For OpEdNews: SM Kovalisnky - Writer
This August 3, Monday, at 6 p.m. in the Broadway Suite of the Roosevelt Hotel, Madison Avenue @ E 45 th St., NYC, British author and quantum consciousness theorist and researcher,
Anthony Peake, will address press and public in a free lecture
hosted by Gnosis Arts Multimedia Communications, LLC. A reception for the author will follow. Admission is free, courtesy of Gnosis Arts.
"Why Science is taking the Afterlife Seriously": Thus runs one of the
subtitles of Anthony Peake's first book (Is There Life After Death?:
The Extraordinary Science of What Happens When We Die: Why Science is Taking the Afterlife Seriously (Chartwell Books, 2006). And it is true: Science appears not only to take the idea of our immortality seriously, but in fact provides the underpinnings of empirical evidence.
Peake rose to prominence several years ago when his theoretical essay, Cheating the Ferryman: A New Paradigm of Existence? was published in the Journal of Near Death Studies, and lauded by Carlson Professor of Psychiatry, Bruce Greyson. In addition to his 2006 book, a second book, The Daemon: A Guide to Your Extraordinary Secret Self (Arcturus Publishing, 2008) has appeared, making Peake's eclectic use of quantum physics, classical epistemology, neurology, binary brain studies, and cognitive psychology solidify into a robust and well-crafted theory which cannot be easily waved away.
This August, Peake will once again stand before the lecturn, this time, on U.S. soil ( he had presented his material in hundreds of lectures across Great Britain, and in radio broadcasts throughout Europe, but this August will mark his first US appearance as an author). Having read both his books, and viewed them through the advantage of advanced academic philosophical study, I think Mr. Peake will more than hold his own.
