The Old Codger: America: Love it or leave it

Obama has won the election.  Woo-Hoo.  Everyone is making a big deal out of the first black man to ascend to the White House, which according to my conservative friends, will quickly be renamed “The Black House.”  It is unknown when the painting crews will show up, but if they repaint it without charging the taxpayer anything, I’m OK with it, providing they repaint again just before he leaves.

No, I’m not all that thrilled with Obama winning the election. That’s not to say that for the two weeks before the election my stomach wasn’t churning every morning as I read the news and the latest polls.  That churning was out of fear that McCain and Palin would get the final nod.  (Note to Self:  Need to celebrate tonight with a few beers.)

Obama was marginally the lesser of two evils.  I can’t say as though I really go along with any of his proposals to bring change to the country.  Mighty hard to bring any meaningful changes to Washington if you start stacking your administration with Washington insiders.  Do have to wonder though if the puppy he is taking to the White House is a pit bull…

Like him or tolerate him.  Love him or hate him.  He will be the new Commander in Chief on January 20th.  Short of anything dramatic happening, he belongs to America for the next four years.

My e-mail box is once again filling up with mail from all the right wing conservatives.  I swear.  Those boys must be working 24/7 coming up with all their anti-Democrat and anti-liberal stuff.  There is no doubt that a lot of the folks over on the Left are in desperate need of some serious sensitivity training programs.

Over the next three or four years at least, the non-conservatives do have a chance for a bit of revenge.  Now is the opportune time to start reminding the conservatives of their favorite lines anytime and everytime someone criticized George W. Bush...

“It is un-American to criticize a war time president.  It divides the country.”  Obama of course is inheriting three wars from the Bush Administration -- Afghanistan, Iraq and Wall Street.

“He is our Commander in Chief and he knows better than anyone else about what to do.  He has the best minds in the country working for him.”

“He is a war time president and everyone must show him the respect that he is due.”

“When at war, the country must stand behind its Commander in Chief.”

“Remember - this is America.  Love it or Leave it.  That includes loving your new Commander in Chief.”

“You’re either with Obama or you’re against him.”

Hopefully someone will get busy now and write a book entitled “How to Talk to a Conservative -- If you have to.”  The non-conservatives need to capitalize on the opportunities that they have now that they are in the majority.  To pass up these opportunities would be just plain un-American.

The Old Codger has left the room with a big smile on his face.

Looks Like the Old Codger

hits the nail on the head.

I die laughing every time I think of someone telling Michele Bachmann that now, with My Man as President, she should be a little more "careful" about her criticisms. I mean ..... she and Laura Ingraham are beginning to sound a little "anti-American" if you catch my drift. Maybe the FBI should be investigating them? What we need is a little respect for the Presidency. Please!

You gotta love it. Let them all eat crow, until we get our Constitution back and an independent re-investigation of 9/11. Shoe doesn't fit so good on the other foot, does it? And by the way, let's not let up the heat for all the democrats who proved to be so complicit over these last eight years, beginning with my own, Bill delahunt, D-MA, and everyone's, Nancy Pelosi, the quintessential anti-American, the biggest make believe democrat in the history of our nation.

Fed up and may leave the US

I voted for George W. the first time.

I fixed up boarded up rental properties in Stafford Springs, Connecticut, to palaces. I got so fed up with the heroin, crack cocaine dealers, vandals, prostitutes and other common criminal parasites I wrote Bush 9-15-01 just to vent. [scroll down in this post for the letter]

If you scroll down to the bottom of the above link, you'll see a response that seems to indicate Bush read my letter. 10-11-01 I was attacked on my property by a police informant. Since the informant had been threatening my life for weeks, leaving voicemails etc. I had pepper spray. For pepper spraying the felon police informant after he attacked me when I came home to the dark from work, I was sentenced to a year in prison, losing my career, home, retirement, dog, and family.

So, if I don't see some improvement in this Fascist American state, I'll be free and American elsewhere while I still can.
