A Prayer From The "Godless" On The Eve of The Election

Oh Lord, our beloved Universal Creator; may you bless this planet and your children with harmony. If that task is not too large even for you... Please consider the following, pleaded by your poor servants, asking for what we should always have been able to do by ourselves, as You have provided us all that is necessary, but which we have so far been incapable of doing:

May the many worthy new faces in our political world win their election  races tomorrow; Your children such as Cindy Sheehan and many others... We need them and more like them to help do Your work. Please help the people living in these areas to understand the need for change... To recognize the Truth among the deliberate confusion and negativity; to discern the differences between the desire and need for healing our world, and the fear and anger of losing things that were never even possessed. Unmask our eyes, showing the shams of those who would deny and blame instead of celebrate; and let Your pure light shine in us, and through us.    

May those such as Kucinich, Wexler, and the too-few remaining children of your Light in government now retain their positions; and grow in Your name. Their leadership and strength is key to our future success, and to do Your works. Lead those others not yet hopelessly astray back to your Light... So that the dark, deceiving veils of self-interest, division, and denial covering their eyes are removed.

And oh Lord, may the new leadership here in America repair the damage with our sisters and brothers throughout the world; creating a new path towards harmony... May you help us, all of Humankind, mature beyond confused adolescence into adulthood: Putting behind us the desire to war and do violence to others... Putting away the evil toys of war... To end all this evil done in war, often done falsely in Your name by evil men... To end the endless evil of war forever!!

May You help us grow our sense of greater Humanity: From protection and jealousy for our nation, our tribe, our clan, our genetic line... Our political party.... Into the  betterment of our entire species and our planet. Oh Lord, help your children grow up!

May you guide our leaders, oh Lord of Creation, and may they walk in your Light. May those that would seek to control and lead us away from your Light fail utterly. May their dark secrets and their evil works of  destruction, of slavery and the will of domination, of disdain, of violence, of supreme hubris be revealed for all to see clearly. May the enemies of Humanity... Enemies of reason, of charity, of equality, of justice and humility be vanquished! May you bring our mortal and weak leaders to the path of righteousness, and keep them from being led astray.

This is my humble prayer, oh Lord. We do not deserve Your help, that is well proven. We are silly, selfish, willful children refusing to accept the obvious truth and logic of our error. Yet, oh Lord, we are not all the way worthless and beyond hope... Nor has the rot spread too far for it to be Healed. We can only ask for the strength to heal ourselves, and our world. Give us the strength; the maturity, the wisdom to do this... And allow this worldly election to be the beginning of our healing process and not just another veil for continuation of ignorance and the evil of self-interest.

Give us the sweet fruit of Hope, Lord; and allow it to seed and grow.
