I have lived for eighty years and am still waiting for Americans to rise to their obligations under the Constitution to take the helm to run the government both federal and state.
Sorry folks but it is time to stop wishing, and start doing something affirmative by breaking up the political quagmire in Washington. There are a number of things we the voters can do to turn our seemingly irreversible situation around. We must first come to grips with the fact that our political and economic future can no longer be entrusted to politicians who feather their own nest at the expense of the electorate/taxpayer.
At present out national debt is hovering around 14 trillion dollars, not counting the long term obligations of government, in paying for social benefits over the long term. We are in a state of bankruptcy and no additional bailouts of worthless paper money will help us.
While the Constitution prohibits any litmus test for candidates for public office, that applies to the making of any laws which would set those tests. We the people have the unencumbered right to select and vote for candidates who meet our own notion of exactly what a good candidate for public office should stand for and we can enforce it at the ballot box.
We have been deceived that we have a two party system. What
we have is a one party system with different engravings on each side of the
coin, which makes it a dictatorship.
There are a number of things we have observed over the years that have helped bring the country to where it is. The first and foremost would be the organized misinformation which we all were subjected to in the public school system. That would be the false history of the development of the United States. Guns, gunpowder, cannons and the saber, not God, created the United States from the Atlantic to the Pacific. The same deception began the expansion of the influence of the U.S. to where today it is has bases in foreign countries by the hundreds to maintain its intimidating influence for the benefit of the elite all paid for by the taxpayers.
Communism was not defeated by democracy but rather by capitalism at the expense of America's workers. The reward for supporting that effort has resulted in the elite moving jobs offshore to where our workers have nothing more that rampant unemployment and all the pain that portends. That maneuver has been called protecting America's vital interests with war, hype and propaganda to get the worker to side with the wealthy in supporting war against created enemies further destroying our homeland from within. We need to wake up and not rely on some messiah appearing in the sky to save us. WE MUST DO IT OURSELVES! IT IS SIMPLE BUT WILL REQUIRE OUR COMMITMENT BEGINNING RIGHT NOW! A NEW DECADE OF RESOLUTION!
As a first step I believe that the majority among us have no real idea of how all this has happened. I suggest that every adult American obtain and read a copy of Professor Howard Zinn's Book, A People's History of the United States. By reading it we can all come to a common understanding of where we are and how we got here. Only two million copies have been sold world wide and we need at least ten million people to read it to shake off the shackles that inhibit us. We can also educate ourselves somewhat by watching the documentary film, THE PEOPLE SPEAK made from the book. That DVD will be available for purchase this January and was shown on the History Channel this past Month.After reading it we need to organize ***ourselves to accomplish the following suggestions:
1. Remove from office any member of the House of Representatives who has already served three terms.2. Remove all Senators who have served two terms.
3. Limit the wealthy from office. Annual income of over $500,000.00 the last three years will disqualify any candidate. Personal assets of more than ten million Dollars will also disqualify. We need a congress truly representative of the masses.
5. If a candidate for public office refuses to enter into a contract with his or her constituents to comply with promises contractually made to those constituents, he or she shall not be voted for. If he or she has made any such contract and upon election there after fails to perform; he or she shall be subject to immediate removal from office for breach of contract. No more of this bait and switch b---sh-t!
6. Every candidate for public office will promise on penalty of perjury and breach of contract that he or she will make every effort to terminate the Federal Reserve System Law and return the printing of money to the government of the masses of people. This law is up for renewal in 2012! It is a law by which the elite have toyed with us too long!
These are litmus tests which we the voter can enforce at the ballot box.
