German Chancellor Angela Merkel with French President Hollande

A most dire question at the moment; how to restrain the US from its headlong rush to provoke a war with Russia?

To those following the real news the intent seems unmistakable, madness with neo-con visions of regime change and most ominously, considering a nuclear first strike and preventing a Russian retaliatory strike.

That's right "MAD" is no more, mutually assured destruction with the realization by the old cold war adversaries that any first strike was unthinkable as the retaliatory strike would surely assure its own annihilation. That's passe.

Now the demonization of Vladimir Putin and Russia is unrelenting; he "invaded" Crimea, he's behind the separatist "terrorists" in eastern Ukraine opposing the Kiev regime, he's responsible for downing the Malaysian passenger plane that mercilessly killed all 283 passengers and 15 crew, he's the new Stalin, Hitler, Satan incarnate you name it and he's now in the cross hairs of the US national security state.

The drumbeat from the corporate media follows in lockstep getting its cue from Obama, Kerry and his State Department ministry of neo-con propaganda while the EU NATO puppets dutifully fall in line not questioning US propaganda.

It's all lies of course but that's the intent of propaganda. Repeat the lies enough times people come to believe them.

Providing evidence and an honest investigation of events is the enemy of propaganda so the truth must be kept under wraps, never allowed to emerge and reveal the lies for what they are. And in the event the truth does come to light the intent is to dissemble, distort, dismiss, divert attention from, whatever is necessary to maintain the lies with the truth being a mere bump in the road and fast forgotten. Hey, just move on.

That's what Obama did. We all knew the Bush II crowd committed heinous crimes, but to Obama it was "let's move on and not look back".

Well so much for that bit of "nostalgia" down "memory lane"-or better Orwell's "memory hole".

To summarize some of the recent events focusing primarily on the events in Ukraine-I apologize to those in the know- here are some of the facts:

There was a coup in Ukraine in February perpetrated by neo-Nazi "Right Sector" thugs that caused President Viktor Yanukovych to flee for his life, a coup orchestrated by Victoria "F-ck the EU" Nuland, the US Undersecretary of State for Europe and Eurasian Affairs and as usual with the CIA ably abetting the events on the ground.

As for the people in Crimea, mostly ethnic speaking Russians, they saw the coup in Kiev and demanded a referendum and voted to join the Russian Federation. The Russian troops were already stationed in Sevastopol as part of the Russian Black Sea Fleet legally stationed there. All they did was maintain order in Crimea after the post coup regime came to power in Kiev. There certainly wasn't an invasion, just troops maintaining order so the people of Crimea could assert their right of self determination through a legal referendum and vote.

In eastern and southern Ukraine the people also resisted the coup regime in Kiev defending their homes, towns and cities and now from the brutal attacks of the newly elected president of Ukraine Viktor Porochenko-who has vowed to destroy the "terrorists" in the Donbass, sending in his "Right Sector" thugs as part of a newly formed national guard militia, the same thugs that set fire to the trade unions building last May in Odessa killing and burning alive protestors that sought shelter in the building.

The latest incident, the downing of the Malaysian passenger plane, monitors from the OSCE, Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe have looked at the remnants of the downed plane particularly the cockpit area revealing bullet holes that could only have come from a fighter jets machine gun fire that exploded the pressurized plane and brought it to the ground. Notably a Ukrainian jet fighter was seen in the vicinity of the Malaysian plane, according to an eyewitness account on the ground and confirmed by the Russian Defense Ministry from satellite photos.
