Granted, there are extremists on the far left who are also divisive. But, generally speaking, even leftist extremists don't usually stoop to deception and dishonesty, and usually their worst indulgence is in sarcasm, condescension, patronization, and mockery. Nevertheless, as has been the case so many times throughout history, the left generally has truth on their side.

That is in fact why so many leftist revolutions have been successful, like the leftist American Revolution of 1776, which was victorious over the right-wing imperial rule of the King of England. Those on the political left are usually motivated by the best interests of the vast majority, while those on the political right usually represent the powerful wealthy few. The modern New Right in American, therefore, has no choice but to be dishonest and deceptive, or, at the very least, disingenuous, in order to pretend that they serve all the people when in fact they serve the wealthiest few. They have no choice but to appeal to the right-wing "conservative" group ego, and to emotions, prejudices, nationalism and religious bigotry, which is why they "get tough," wave their flag, thump their bible, rattle their sword and use fear of an enemy and anger at an enemy to stir up support.

In the last 28 years they have had a lot of political success doing that. Consequently, because of the corruption and deceptiveness of Reaganism and Bushism, the rich have continued to get richer. They have continued to establish laws and build larger and more powerful police and armed forces to protect their wealth and gain even more, while the working poor keep getting poorer, the middle class keeps shrinking, and more and more people fall into the working poor population.

Unfortunately, the seed of Jeffersonian democracy did not grow into maturity. The main obstacle was imposed by partisan politics, which breeds corruption. In fact, what we have had under Reaganism (and Bushism) is the inevitable consequence of partisan politics when corrupt right-wing ideologues win power. But the problem is not just corruption. Partisan politics is inherently flawed because it is based on the idea that we should choose sides and compete in a winner-take-all contest for power. Thus it is automatically divisive and polarizing, and, even worse, it requires all partisan campaigners to pretend that they will serve all the people, when they don't. They invariably serve the winning party and their supporters, above all, while the losing party suffers the consequences. And, when corrupt regimes like the Reaganites and Bushites win power, the majority of the people suffer in one way or another.

That is why the U.S. Government now most represents the divided "Babylon" of Bible prophecies (as is fully explained in Memoirs of a Prodigal Son of Man, What IS the World Coming To?, and in other issue pages). According to real prophecies, this government of "Babylon" will fall, but it will not be by perishing by the "sword" that it has lived by. It will fall because it will undergo a new reformation of religion and government, and it will become what it was supposed to be, and what it is destined to be.

As the prophet Daniel put it, a "stone (of truth) will shatter the image of the King of Babylon (represented by Reagan and Bush), and the stone shall become as a great mountain that shall fill the whole earth." (Daniel 2:35)

The "stone" is a symbol for the divine truth and the message from the Spirit of truth, which, when it is finally recognized and accepted, will be spread all over the world. And when that happens, it will have a profound and positive impact.

"In the days of these kings (and Heads of State) shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms (and nations), and it shall stand forever." (Daniel 2:44)

That prophecy is basically repeated in the Christian book of Revelation.

"The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of His Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever." (Revelation 11:15)

This speaks of the ultimate fulfillment of Judeo-Christian prophecy, when the "divided fourth kingdom" of "Babylon" (Daniel 2:32-45), which is now epitomized by the U.S., is replaced by the new world "kingdom" that shall embrace all nations and last forever. God and the Christ in heaven (a.k.a. the Avatar-Buddha-Mahdi, etc.) will reign in spirit forever, and all the people on earth shall be equal joint heirs to the "thrones" of their governments. (Daniel 2:44; Romans 8:17; Galatians 3:29; James 2:5; Revelation 11:15)

What this means, in other words, is that when the message from the Spirit of truth is finally spread all over the world, there will be a reformation of religions and governments. What was the seed of Jeffersonian democracy will finally grow again and mature. We will finally establish a true family of nations under God only, with governments that are truly democratic and really of, by, and for the people. And that process will be aided by a united family of religions that finally acknowledge their true purpose, which is to teach all human beings that we are all equal in the sight of God, and ONE in the Spirit.

That's what real prophecy is all about.
