"The Shell Game" is Rattling Some Powerful Nerves!

So, after contacting him and getting an advance copy, I just put it aside.  Then when I picked it up one night, I read all night long!!  I couldn’t believe that such a book had been written by a NY Times best selling author.  I contacted him the next day and said, “THIS BOOK HAS TO GO TO #1.  I WANT TO HELP!”

Now, of course the attacks on myself, on Steve Alten, and on “The Shell Game,” have been furious.  Both our personal addresses, and phone numbers have been posted on the internet, as an obvious attempt at intimidation.

And many from supposed “9/11 truth activists.”  Most were oddly made before the book was even out, and with little knowledge of the author.  Now, many sidelining comments have been made from real 9/11 truth activists, but the FIRST wave of attacks have come from un-knowns.  I fear that good people have been led to attack or dismiss “The Shell Game,” by COINTELPRO ACTIVISTS, placed to create chaos . . .. because they fear this explosive novel’s success, and the 9/11 truth it can spread thru society.

Mr. Douglas:

Do you plan on being at the Anthony Wayne movie theater this Tuesday evening? I have informed several people who did not know about either OpEdNews, or the event on Tuesday evening. They now know about both and plan to attend.

It should be quite an interesting event.

the movement is big enough to drive "The Shell Game" to #1 and when it hits #1 on the NY Times list the media will be FORCED to talk about it and what it implies regarding the lies of 9/11.

Sibel Edmonds is the most gagged person in US history. The government has repeatedly invoked the State Secrets Privilege in her case - not for reasons of 'national security' but to hide ongoing criminal activity. Please call Waxman and Conyers' offices and demand public open hearings into Edmonds' case and the State Secrets Privilege. Links to their contact pages on the right of the blog.

When you were attacked

on 911Blogger, the folks who did the attacked immediately moved from my mental 'unnoticed' bin into the possible-to-probable 'pentagon operation information roadmap employees' 'bin'.

I agree completely with your rationale regarding cointelpro activity being tied to 911 truth phenomena that might 'have an effect' at promoting truth and examination of (elements of) the government's behavior on 11-01-01 and following. There is now so much information about the government's and the elites' machinations before and since 911 that no other explanation that actually connects the dots, seems ludicrous (although, the gatekeeper Chomsky will, of course -- since he keeps pushing the now discredited 'blowback' thesis).

Anyway, good luck. A while back, I did get one of the last two copies of the book on Amazon. If I had had more money, I would have purchased both. One to give to another.

Yeah, if you can email the link to TheShellGame.net etc.

Yeah, if you can email the link to TheShellGame.net to all your contacts, any progressive discussion groups, post on blogs, etc.

Also at the above website, there're two 90 second video trailers you can email around and post.  One on 9/11 Truth and one on Oil Wars.

Both are great consciousness raising tools, as well as helping get the word out on the book.

Another link to "The Shell Game"

Another great link for "The Shell Game" is found at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' (LDS) publisher - Cedar Fort, Inc.:

http://www.cedarfort.com/sweetwater/shellgame.html

Cedar Fort, Inc. is marketing this LDS publication under its business name - Sweetwater Books.  Remember, with the Apocolypse there's always the possibility of Redemption.

And why isn't that link being promotoed - with the rest?

While it could be argued that "consciousness" or "conscience" could be used, I find it interesting the your term involves the use of a capital.

Are you suggesting, and the choice of publisher confirming, that the Truther movement is a cause that would be or is endorsed by a Higher Power, as you understand that term to be?

What's up?

I do not doubt that the religious backgrounds of Truthers are diverse.  I might even accept that the premise is "truth" that unites these people under the common theme of "9/11 Truth", although politics plays a heavy role here, as well.

I am wondering why, though, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (a/k/a the Mormon church) is the only recognized religion that has endorsed (albeit most quitely) the 9/11 Truth Movement's basic supposition that the events of 9/11 were an "inside job".

You, Mr. Douglas, never reference the video and book links to Cedar Fort (a/k/a Sweetwater Books) on "The Shell Game".  Instead, you only reference the resources at www.theshellgame.net or on YouTube, which are legitimate but yet another step removed from the Mormon church sources.  The web site that you reference tracks vistors' information but does not tell the visitor what it does with such information.  The owner of the web site is a mystery, although www.911blogger.com appears to have posted a "whois" query on the URL prior to its cloaking in annonymity.

I find the fact noteworthy that the "The Shell Game" and Mormon church link is obscured and never referenced by you, Mr. Douglas, or even Mr. Alten.  The book was bankrolled by the Mormon publisher at considerable cost (i.e., $50,000) to it in the form of an advance to Mr. Alten.  Only one other book (i.e., discussing the Mormon faith) from the publisher has received such an advance.

My concern with this obscuring is that a distinctly religious body (i.e., the Mormon church) is supporting distinctly secular yet controversial organizations  (i.e., 9/11 Truth groups) that reflect the "inside job" perspective.  The Mormon church has always been under the microscope for varying reasons.  I'm at a loss as to why it would want itself under that view again on a topic that is hugely controversial - especially when one of its faith is running for the highest elected office in America this year.

In the end, I'm forced to ask, "What's up?"

Oh, I get it Tommy . . . you are trying to intimidate this Mormon publisher.  Sorry, I thought you had an authentic interest in truth there for a moment.

My bad.

Yes, Tommy, like the COINTELPRO of the past, there are efforts any time anyone tries to do something that spreads inconvenient truths about the official 9/11 story . . . that they are attacked . . .

Yes, I see where your pretzled pathetic little sinister thread is leading now.

By Tommy.  For those truly interested in truth, go to the publisher's website of "The Shell Game" or go to YouTube's 911 and Oil Trailers of "The Shell Game" or go to www.TheShellGame.net . . . it doesn't matter.

Just get this information on this book out . . . and make the Tommy's of the world squirm a bit, while doing a whole lotta good for our country and our world before the neocons can pull of another false flag 9-11 to terrify Americans into more illegal wars, and stripping our liberty at home.

Not intimidation but genuine curiousity

I am NOT trying to intimidate the publisher in any way, shape, or form.  The connection between the author, publisher, and Mormon church are there for anyone to see; you just have to do a little digging, but nothing is outright hidden (well, except for the owner of www.theshellgame.net is hidden).

I have viewed the trailers, read the excerpt (commented on a deficiency or two in the narrative in a past comment), and had already visited most of the links at the web site.  I have not bought the book, though, nor will I until the price drops or it becomes available as an e-book.  Regardless, I am genuinely interested in why the Mormon church would be interested in associating itself with 9/11 Truth.

Where you, Mr. Douglas, have been unable to provide an answer and seem to consistently redirect any attention away from it, I have written Cedar Fort, Inc. for clarification on Mr. Alten's novel and its alignment to or endorsement by the LDS leadership.  I'll keep you posted on the response I receive, if any.

yeah, I see what you are doing, and think its pathetic.

Why wouldn't any publisher in America have every right to publish any damn thing they want, and who are you to ask them why they would?

What is YOUR game, Tommy . . . you seem so curious about other people's intentions.

Why do you waste your days trying to confuse and distract and cast suspicioun on anyone examining 9/11.

Who do you work for?  Why do YOU spend day after day on a PROGRESSIVE site, when obviously you have a distaste for anything progressive.

Surely you have a reason, or mission.

Something is not "right" and should be explained

Whoa, now!  You think that my questioning why a solely religious publisher would carry a novel about the secular 9/11 conspiracy theories is pathetic?  And yet you, Mr. Douglas, and Mr. Alten can question the government - no, that's too lenient - accuse the government of being liars and murderers due to its false flag operation of 9/11.  But what you're doing isn't - pathetic!?!  Why not?

If you stick to yours as being the moral "high ground" here, then I'll call you a hypocrite, Mr. Douglas.  You cannot lay claim to that just as I can't.  If you insist on owning it, then you're only fooling yourself.

I do not have a "distaste" for all things progressive, although I do disagree with the harshly biased focus that the Truthers have espoused with regard to 9/11.  Admittedly, also, I am conservative in my overall thinking but claim NO relationship with the neo-conservative agenda.  I align my thinking much more so with that of a classical conservative.

I work for myself as an American citizen who has served his country faithfully and knows the full measure of what the term "service" means.  I do NOT just talk about what it means to be of service but have lived it, as well.  And I take exception to those people that elect to promote America as solely an "evil" and "uncaring" nation to both its people's and the world.

My "mission", if that is what you choose to label it because it fits nicely with your "cointelpro" label that you folks toss around here like butter squares in a college cafetaria, with regard to 9/11 is to provide balance to the severely (and perhaps fatally-flawed) biased positions espoused by many on the progressive side of politics.  What good would I do if I discussed issues solely with people of like mind?  Much more is accomplished by discussing the same issues with people of differing thoughts.

You, Mr. Douglas, are one of those people.  You reiterate the same script continuously.  Yet, the meat on the bones of your script is lean and the logic is questionable - at best.  And once I see that there's a link of sorts between religion and 9/11 that is not mentioned - AT ALL - in your script, I AM concerned.  It's one thing for the people to question the events of 9/11.  But it's an entirely different matter if an organized religion like the Morman church is attempting to influence and direct the people in their discussion of 9/11.

Why would a religion want to do that, Mr. Douglas - for the "truth"?  No offense to you if you believe in a Higher Power (which I DO), but I sincerely doubt the church's interest is solely "truth".  There's something not quite right, and it seems to involve power or at least the influence of it.

FACTS do not support the Government's 9/11 story.

FACTS point to not only an Air Force stand down, but a controlled demolition of the WTC buildings.

Bush/Cheney fought a 9/11 investigation.  They work for US.  They OWE us ALL THE FACTS.

Your slimey equation that you have the right to cast aspersions on anyone who questions the government is thin at best, and a creepy kind of fascism at worst.

You wear a uniform, but your twisted form of logic seems very UN-American to me.

By the way.  Anyone out there who wants a new 9/11 investigation . . . URGE EVERYONE TO READ "THE SHELL GAME" AND SHARE THE RESOURCES AT WWW.THESHELLGAME.NET

Your grasp of "facts" is incorrect

Fact: "a piece of information presented as having objective reality" - http://www.webster.com/dictionary/fact .  Facts do not point to a "stand down" or "controlled demolition" on 9/11.  Facts don't point to anything other than their own existence.

It's analysis of the facts or data that suggest one hypothesis or another.  In order to arrive at your statement of "facts point to...", your hypothesis needs to be tested repeatedly by others that arrive at the same conclusion that you did.  Unfortunately for you, Mr. Douglas, others have looked at the facts and arrived at different conclusions.

Therefore, the best you can say is that it's possible that the Air Force stood down and controlled demolitions were used on 9/11.  This then begs the question of "If they were possible, then were they probable?"  This is where your "faith" in "The Shell Game" and other Truther sources create the statement, "FACTS point to not only an Air Force stand down, but a controlled demolition of the WTC buildings."  The probability that the many, many disparate events that Truthers reference can only be aligned along the idea of an "inside job" is minimal if not de minimus.

Your inability to realize the difference between the application of "faith" and reason here is why I claim that your logic is questionable at best.

"Your slimey equation that you have the right to cast aspersions on anyone who questions the government is thin at best, and a creepy kind of fascism at worst."

I have the ability to questions others just as you have the ability to questions others.  Do you deny me that ability in favor of your own?  I'm not claiming a "right" - just a healthy dose of common sense.  How you arrive at fascism from the ability to question someone on an issue in America is beyond me but you appear to be able to make that jump effortlessly.  This is a "comic book" mentality that makes no sense whatsoever and only serves (yet again) as an example of your questionable logic.

"You wear a uniform, but your twisted form of logic seems very UN-American to me."

MY twisted form of logic?  Really, Mr. Douglas, you truly are a funny man.  Are you claiming that one must wear a uniform to be... American - whatever that is?  Or are you claiming that I'm supposed to be American (again, whatever that is) because I wear a uniform?  Either way, the comment is ONLY meant to di
