Michael, who hails from Oakland, California originally and actually went to my own high school in San Francisco, Lick-Wilmerding High, is of African, American Indian, French, German and Irish descent and writes music that is a mix of hip hop, reggae, jazz, rock and folk, not to mention a few other influences. Well known as a social activist for peace and justice, in 2004 he travelled to Baghdad in Iraq, Israel, the West Bank, and the Gaza Strip to witness for peace and humanity, later producing a movie about his experiences called “I Know I’m Not Alone”.
