...Between humans a new alliance of respect for all

Let the planetary music begin

In a global culture reverencing every sex, race, creed,

And every element, plant, animal and human...

Evolution is more than a matter of the male animal competing with other males for territory and mates. This process allows the most physically fit genes to survive. And that is what many think the concept of evolution is largely about. It took Steven Gould's upgrading of Darwin with his evolutionary theory of Punctuated Equilibria to set us straight on that. Evolution is a broad term. It does means to keep a species intact over time with genetic competition with blood and tooth and claw, and it means more. We all evolve physically/genetically, emotionally/socially/culturally, mentally and spiritually. Darwinian evolution does not cover much other than the animal/physical part of the thing. It covers maintaining the physical fitness of a species by allowing only the fittest to survive. But genetic maintenance and an evolutionary genetic upgrade are not the same thing. For that you need something more.

Steven Gould's Punctuated Equilibria theory says that occasionally a species is under pressure from its environment and it is typically at those times that it really evolves. And the process is not a process of outer competition but an inner secret kind of cooperation of some sort. So it appears that there are at least two kinds of evolution, one almost antithetical to the other.  There is evolutionary competitiveness and evolutionary cooperativeness. There is maintaining a species intact over time with genetic competitiveness and there is more. There is some sort of inner cooperativeness and it typically appears in some place and time where genetic variation suddenly accelerates dramatically responding to new stresses. Some new evolutionary adaptation by cooperativeness of some inner mysterious sort comes seemingly out of nowhere.

With the appearance of the Industrial Revolution humankind entered a period of stress. The first things to happen were not adaptive but evolutionary failures. The human race started to fall apart. Rich robber barons used the idea that genetic and other kinds of competition were a progressive evolutionary thing. And theirs was not even an honest competition. The robber barons of the Industrial Revolution used dishonest cut throat competition in their economic and labor tactics to enslave the majority of the human population in the new factories. They adopted the idea of bloody genetic competition being a progressive evolutionary thing by using Darwin's evolutionary theory to justify what they were doing. It is called "Social Darwinism". And the masses enslaved by those robber barons wanted none of that kind of Darwinian idea understandably. But we all evolve over time on many levels and in many ways.

Darwin's theory of evolution is hardly the only thing coopted by the rich and used by them to enslave others.

Christianity was also used by the rich. And once again they warped the wisdom and culture of the human race to accomplish their goals. Centuries ago before the Protestant Revolution and Reformation rich popes and bishops altered the bible to get rid of the teachings of ancient well accepted astrological lore that talked of reincarnation. That and other corrupt things that happened in the early church caused the Protestant Revolution. Powerful people in the church did much of this about the time when Constantine, the emperor of Rome, realized he could not beat the Christians, so he would join them. Shortly after that the Christian Church became the Holy Roman Empire. About that time the bible was dumbed down so as to be able to sell it to the masses and it was stripped of any ancient lore.

Centuries later many Christians think of astrology as something of the devil. They are taught that they have one life to get back to God. And if that is so then they need a direct line to Him and miracles from Him and much forgiveness. And Voila! It is for sale from the Christian church dispensed by the priests. In the middle ages the priests sold indulgences. They had a so-called direct line to God through the so-called infallibility of the pope.

But modern evolutionary theory and ancient astrological lore both tell us that it takes a long time to evolve. And you do it yourself over many lives, not with indulgences bought from priests.

As a species out of sync with nature and causing our own  demise at the moment we need to re-examine much of what we are taught and find out what is really true.

We live at a peak evolutionary time and it would be good if we understood how vast the concept of evolution really is. It is much more than a tooth and claw fight for mere physical survival. At this time in human history humans seem to be reinventing themselves and the nature of this evolutionary move is to put animal competitiveness behind us. As a species we seem to be very keen on that idea.

We see this in how the occupation of cities is going, and how the masses are conducting their global revolution. Humans are on the brink of a massive change of consciousness. Humans are changing from being a thought-dominated species to being a species that is beginning to be spiritual. With thought as our primary focus war seemed the way to go to expand our empire. With spirituality on board war is unthinkable except for  defending against an aggressor.

Just now, the stress of the Industrial Revolution has become unmanageable. it is how we humans are handling it that is the problem. it is as if the devil himself were taking over the human world. But now, at the last minute, we are finally rising up and redefining ourselves as a species. We realize we can no longer allow ourselves to be manipulated and propagandized into war and class struggle by the one percent or elite. We the ninety nine percent are taking the reins of our own existence and are uniting in a one world citizen-instigated global government.

All creation so far has led to this grand point of a magnificent evolutionary challenge. We humans make it or break it as a species in this time. We become the wise earth-citizens that function as cells of a collective planet-brain, and evolve eventually to be angels, or we descend into chaos and madness and devolve to be devils. One or the other is happening right now. Or should I say ... one and the other is happening now ... as every soul chooses which way to go.

I am a hippy that never dropped out. I have held on to impossible idealism and will not give up. I think the human race is a ticking time bomb and we are at the last tick. So what is the good of slow careful pragmatism that allows time for it all to (more...)
