it would be great to see some REAL SUPPORT for this proposal this time around.

We really must finally get around CONgress and the CIA and demand that the torture stops!

I noted with concern this morning that the reportage of the John Rasdan talk had mispelled his name!!  Intentional!! or NOT!!  Point is:  John Conyers had best step up to the plate - he heard the testimony back in February from JAGs and Ransdan ...

Why are we still waiting for the US of A to obey and recognize GENEVA, it's the Supreme Law of the Land .. it matters not if Clinton & Co disobyed its provisions in Kosova ..

Back on October 24, 1973, the ACLU informed the American people that "you are now called upon to demand the excercise of congressional responsibility..we seek to provide you a means by which to effect the peaceful overthrow of tyranny. There shall be no mistake about it, a usurper has acquired power in America.." Who can say Nixon's resignation was a result of their Pamphlet?  It's anybody's guess. However, no doubt about it, their Pamphlet was well received by the American people, a successful publication, resulting in many thousands of new members for the ACLU.

Concerned citizens can contact the ACLU National Board at CLICK HERE Executive_Director@aclu.org and urge Anthony Romero to release a "2008 Impeachment Pamphlet".

For example, "I pledge $25 to the ACLU if you release your "Impeachment Pamphlet" informing the American people why impeachment hearings are urgently needed now."

There is no doubt about it, our Constitution urgently needs all the help that can be mustered and this call includes the ACLU National Board.

Then denial - "What?  Who me!  Participate in barbarity and corruption and torture?  Apathetic about other people's pain and suffering. Not ME, Jack! I"ll pay my taxes, and if in office I"ll profit and influence peddle .. '  I can stand all the pain!!""

Then delusion totally takes over - "There are no consequences for BAD BEHAVIOR.  I like what I say, but you can't say what you like. Free speech for all!! Freedom is slavery!! War is peace!!  We must make war to prevent war""

But look, I say "Okay, time's up."  The rottweillers need to be put on a leash, to remind the Other Rottweillers to come, that they will be punished if they keep up their rotten attacks.  To remind people that COMPASSION and CIVILIZATION is still possible ..

I sincerely hope that the ACLU gets up and finally DOES THE RIGHT THING.

They have been a true disappointment to me.  I mean really (and I went to school with Nadine Strossen .. )  and it's time for THEM to do the right thing if they are going to represent the Guantanamo detainees in the kangaroo courts!!

There is little time to lose - the BuZhistas and their sadist followers are perfectly capable of killing the innocent men involved - to get rid of the evidence of their very real WAR CRIMES. They have just condemned a man to death in Gunatanamo. We will never know what has been done to this man!!  I have heard of barbarity beyond belief .. who knows what all has been done?

I could do a whole NOTHER "essay" on the state of the US military (and that of the vets and their families) but I do want to stay ON TOPIC.

WE CAN MAKE THE DIFFERENCE.

I remain disappointed at the reception that this information gets.  This is the information that the world has at its disposal - INTERNATIONAL LAW about WAR CRIMINALITY, CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY .. 

IT IS TIME, IT IS NOW - and let there be no moving the focus off the real target.

IMPEACH   INDICT    IMPRISON

(and let me go home to the US to watch the proceedings without fear.  So I can remind people - many many many thousands of women and children have been killed, maimed, wounded, orphaned, widowed made into drug addicts and prostitutes, or been sold to become "detainees" and tortured,  and that justice must be SERVED.)

I am going to add this - I have called Nancy Pelosi DOZENS and DOZENS of times.  I have written letter after letter.  I have worked tirelessly for no pay for YEARS and YEARS since I saw that stolen election and REALized that FASCISM was on the doorstep of AMERICA.  I have shed more tears over this than anyone can ever imagine.

I will never rest until I see justice be done.

I hope no one else does either.

I still think we need an Education for Democracy Project, whereby everyone learns about GENEVA, THE DECLARATION FOR HUMAN RIGHTS, about Nuremberg, about the Canadian Charter for Rights and Freedoms --- all put on a CDROM and given away, but particularly to schools and libraries.

Hand them out at malls!

Think the ACLU would be up for THAT?

Never too late to enforce the Constitution

The amazing lack of response from our elected officials to our call for impeachment hearings suggests it might be due in part to the flaccid ignorance of the majority of our citizens.  98% of citizens have no idea about what the Constitution does for them and what they have lost due to the actions of the Bush/Cheney regime.  The politicos stand to benefit from Bush/Cheney's expansion of Presidential powers, as do the corporate funders of the electoral process.  The press seems to be stifled in their pocket as well. 

What recourse have I as a citizen if my efforts and the efforts of tens of thousands of my fellow citizens who share the outrage at the abuses of the Constitution committed by the Bush administration cannot move our Representatives in the Congress to undertake investigations into the many credible allegations of impeachable offense?

How will the men who led us into a tragic and foolish adventure in Iraq, who failed to care for the victims of hurricane Katrina, who illegally spy upon us, who vindictively expose undercover intelligence agents, who politically dismiss attorneys in the Justice Department, who claim the right to torture, kidnap, and deny the ancient right of habeas corpus – how will these men be called to account?

If our representatives cannot bring themselves to honor their oath of office to protect and defend the Constitution as their first responsibility, if the press refuses to call this treasonous betrayal to the attention of the voters, who seem unconcerned about what they do not understand – what action will enlighten a sufficient number of citizens to apply the pressure necessary to move Press and Politician to principled action?

Many attribute much of Bush’s early popularity to his “common man” persona.  One aspect of this “common man” persona is unfortunately shared by much of the world, and now comes back to diminish us in the eyes of the world.  Bush’s “with us or against us” bravado, meant to present a tough, uncompromising stance against “terrorists”, has a “blow back”.  The World, regarding America and Americans from their “common man” point of view, has begun to believe that the failure of the American Citizenry, through their democratically elected representatives, to censure, repudiate and IMPEACH George W. Bush and Richard Cheney must mean that We The People are “with ‘em” – that we support waterboarding, preemptive aggression, kidnapping, warrantless domestic surveillance, and all the other horrors that will leave these men vulnerable to prosecution for war crimes when they leave office.

Indeed every one of us who has not repeatedly petitioned his congressperson, demanding that they honor their oath of office, and that they immediately instigate hearings into the many recognized allegations of impeachable offence, demonstrates his support for the crimes and failings of these men.

Has citizen Hillary Clinton, has citizen Barak Obama, has citizen Ted Kennedy or John McCain petitioned their congressperson with such a demand?  Their oath of office is to protect and defend the Constitution – not their office, not their political party, not their legislative agenda – The Constitution!

If impeachment fails will Hillary or Barak instruct the new Attorney General to indict Bush/Cheney for WAR CRIMES?

I do not see the impeachment people posting.

i think the lady doth protest too much

not that you are wrong. you are absolutely correct. the problem is that people fear the reality they see and hear and intuit. we can not make them wake up. they are held by their egos. the ego fears its own death. their death is in not being in control over the mind.

those in their mind, egos in control of their emotions, are insane. we must get out of our minds. not tell ourselves to fear the past nor fear the future. it is to be in the now. do nothing, do anything, think anything by freeing our minds.

all this mumbo-jumbo boils down to acting and proselytising that we are the power, and the governors are not.
