The point is, not running the trailer for an upcoming movie, especially one of such significance to all Americans alive in the here and now who lived through that horrendous day, is an extremely sad commentary on our inability as Americans to handle the truth.

We complain about the stupidest shit, then when we 're faced with something serious, like reality BLAM! We slam the door, shutting it out.

Throughout World War II, Hollywood produced movies not only to bolster to morale of the men and women in uniform (with the encouragement of the War Department), and those whose loved ones were in harm 's way, but to honor those who had fallen and they who would continue fighting and dying.

These movies were made, with perhaps one-sided depictions of the American as hero and conqueror, but they spurred our Nation and Allies on to fight even harder for total victory.

What could possibly be "too soon " about telling the story, as best we know it from transcripts of telephone conversations and the last words of victims and terrorists, of the heroic acts average, everyday Americans are capable of performing when their Country is in peril.

They certainly behaved far more bravely than anyone in the current White House regime ever has.

Theatregoers ' complaints be damned! Universal Pictures spent tens of millions of dollars producing and marketing the film, and deserve a return; theatres need to put posteriors in the seats, to remain an outlet of free expression; the heroes of Flight 93 and their families deserve to be honored and remembered. To do any less is just playing into the hands of the fearmongers, be they al Qaeda or Republicans.

Put the Flight 93 movie trailers back into theatres, and stand up like you have a spine, America.

While stationed in Germany I liked to watch the Deutscher Abend Neuigkeit (Evening News) whenever the opportunity presented itself. Although I didn 't always catch the complete text, the footage never needed translation. It was not the same as TV-PG rated American television news. They aren 't afraid to let the viewer see reality.

One story I 'll never forget was about an Israeli airliner that had been hijacked by Muslims and flown to an African country. This occurred around 1977. The Israelis could not go in to rescue them, and neither could the Americans. So the Germans, who had created an anti-terrorist force after the Munich tragedy, in the irony of all ironies secretly swooped in and secured the passengers and plane.

The video that was shown on German television was not necessarily suitable for children, although I doubt it would have upset or traumatized Europeans. Right there, in full color, were all the body parts, all the blood, all the gore.

America, we need to GROW UP!

The reason we have this putz of a presidential puppet, with Herr Oberst Karl Rove pulling the strings, is because too many of us think too childishly.

We sneer at the Europeans, but they 've had about 1,200 years or so more experience at civilization and war. See how they have started down the road to peaceful economic unification? They get the one world concept. Same thing with the Asian nations, which are ancient even by the Euro standards. None of these nations feel the need to bomb any other sovereignty into submissive democracy.

By no accident were very few of these countries anxious to jump with both feet into the firestorm of King George XLIII 's Blitzkrieg Uber Iraq.

It 's not that they were wusses. The facts are clear most other world leaders are simply smarter than King George and Herr Oberst Karl Rove, Dark Lord the Dick Cheney, Donald (Here 's the "Out " Door) Rumsfeld, Condoleezza Rice; they 're more astute to the ways of humankind, and less prone to prevarication. And far more caring.
