Now the FDA has finally approved Stevia.  The question is now whether it has been or will be genetically engineered so the corporations which blocked it originally in favor of their own known-to-be dangerous product, can now "own" stevia.

Genetic engineering is all about patents and control - the corporate privatization of nature itself.  The added bonus the corporations have built in biologically is linking GE-crops to require pesticides which they also sell.

Monsanto is a chemical company which originally made chemicals used in war (Agent Orange), and then PCBs until the world banned them as EXTREMELY cancer-causing, and also pesticides for agriculture.  It holds the largest number of patents in the world on seeds and alters the seeds to require its own pesticides, specifically.
