Goolsbee stressed that the main difference between Obama and Clinton was that Obama was “more respectful of market forces.” Goolsbee was adamant that Obama was opposed to expanding the stimulus package to include “money for low-income heating assistance through a bureaucratic program.”

Goolsbee’s statements came just one day after leaders of the Maine legislature had convened in Augusta to face the dire situation of low income families who cannot afford to heat their homes this winter, partly as a result of the sky-high price of heating oil. Some influential members of the Legislature spoke of taking money from Maine’s Rainy Day reserves to help people who are running short of heating oil this winter. Supporters of the proposed move said the high price of heating oil is cutting into the size of deliveries to households receiving Low Income Home Energy Assistance (LIHEAP), with many low-income families not being able to afford a full tank. This puts many Maine residents in danger of going without heat, as House Speaker Glen Cummings of Portland noted. MUCH MORE

In short, another Presidential election is at hand, and thanks to our fascist mainstream news media, there’s not a progressive candidate on the ticket, therefore, Americans can expect everything to become far worse before anything begins to get better. Go figure…

FOOTNOTE: I have implied that McCain will choose Huckabee as his Vice-President if nominated, and if we look at the election logically, with the momentum that Obama is building, a McCain/Huckabee ticket is the only logical choice for the GOP to try and keep a Rethuglican in the White House.

I am nothing more than a patriotic American that is doing whatever I can to further the cause of democracy, the rule of law, and am absolutely outraged on how the Bush administration is defying our Congress, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights! Footnote: I write in a style that I believe is appropriate in today's world where we can't trust the Mainstream News Media, and rather than concentrating on one article alone, which may or may not receive the exposure and emphasis it should, I prefer to meld several relevant stories together, that each taken alone may not expose the entire situation, but when taken-in as a whole, tend to give the reader a better understanding of the subject. One article or story alone does not represent the "Big Picture" - but when several are effectively tied-together it often reveals a trend or broader view of the subject matter that is important to completely understand any given situation. http://justanothercoverup.com/

"I am nothing more than a patriotic American that is doing whatever I can to further the cause of democracy.."

Democracy is the worst form of government. It is tyranny by the masses. The Founding Fathers HATED democracy and established our country as a REPUBLIC to preserve the rights of individuals against the whims of the masses. Advocates of "democracy" are enemies of the USA. The words “democracy” or “democratic” were not used in ANY presidential speeches until the great collectivist Woodrow Wilson.

Most of the problems the USA is encountering today are due to the democratization of our country. We should be insisting that the rule of law is followed (constitution) and if we did, we would see Bush et al held accountable for their crimes. Instead, those namby pamby democrats that were elected to congress last time look the other way because they want to retain all that ill-gotten power to use once they control the White House.

WOW!

WTF???

I'm 57 years old, and throughout my life I have heard and read that the United States of America is a democratic Republic. If it's semantics you're playing, fair enough - but the intent of that article and all others I write is to return to the rule of law and our constitutional form of government with Congress and the Judiciary legally carrying out our system of checks and balances. I am a constitutionalist and believe in the letter of the law and adherence to our constitution.

WTF's wrong with that?

Bush and McCain

Bush confirming McCain's conservative credentials is like Richard Simmons confirming Sen. Larry Craig's heterosexuality.

I guess McCain just has a wide stance.
