Concluding, I would argue a derivative of this I2 (Isolate and Ignore) containment strategy option too be applied to North Korea, but unfortunately based on what I'm seeing with the opposing path being pursued with Iran, I fear you will only learn on both accounts as I did - the hard way.

PS - If Mr. Lincoln were alive today, I think he'd too agree the only way to save the (any) "Union" is to stand collectively, prudently and responsibly firm against all threats, and not succumb to appeasing thinly veiled blackmail in any form nor addressing it through ill thought cowboy conventional and/or God forbid, nuclear military action.
