Will progressive Democrats choose to even campaign for House seats given the lack of party support in 2006?

If these progressives are nominated, will their party support them?

Will the Florida Democratic Party wake up and step into its role as Florida’s dominant party or will we see more of the same old thing?

STOP THE PRESSES: Florida politics is corrupt.

Oh my goodness, now THAT is a piece of news.

Will there be a scoop on this GRAVITY thing I keep hearing about?  It's really getting me down.

But seriously, nobody in politics in Florida (especially SOUTH Florida, but really, the whole state) doesn't know how corrupt BOTH parties are.

Progressives will have to get elected without the support of the (supposedly) Democratic Party.  No other way.

2008 is THE most important election ever. We NEED Florida,

We don't need business as usual by party "insiders."

Florida is special in my view because it's the "alpha" of stolen elections. Gore won in 2000 and he won in Florida, despite the varieties of election fraud before, during and after the election.

The voters and working Democrats in the party and those who vote with it,  are the folks who deserve the "new deal" down there. This chairperson is behind 3 to 1 on fundraising two quarters in a row. Even if the Republican equivalent is as dubious in  party loyalty (which I find hard to believe), that chairperson is doing a great job raising money for Republicans.

2008 is the election that will determine our future. There's really no reason to lose Florida, not a single one...except total incompetence. That can't be tolerated. The parties are not equivalent, taking the Democratic Party in Florida as representing the beliefs of the majority of party members.  The problems at the top needs to be corrected in order for the Democratic Party to represent the very high quality people who are the Democratic activists in the trenches and Democratic voters; some of whom have to endure real hardship and deceit in their efforts to vote.

Professor

The proverbial "the dog ate my homework" excuse offered by those who seek to impose, who have imposed a tyranny is, they're all the same. At the insider level, that's too often the case (to wit Pelosi's secret trade deal with the White House and her stunning refusal to be bound by a majority of the Democrats in the House on trade policy). At the party worker level, I'm happy to tell you, there is great energy and commitment, particularly in Florida. Having been through 2000 on and weathered that, these troops are the Spartans of American politics (except they're typically fully clad;). I have followed your theory for a while with politics... I give directly to candidates who merit funding but the party, nah... I'd never bet on that pony.

Corrupt Florida Politics

I stick with the Democratic Party in Florida because the only way to head off the coming dictatorship of the rich is by being organized. The Greens are too few, leaving the Democratic Party as the only hope. Sadly, my hope continues to dim as it becomes ever more apparent that the leadership of the party is satisfied with the status quo. The bitter realization is that no matter how hard people work, any grassroots candidates can expect to be ignored or even fought by the leadership. Besides vote count integrity, this is the most important issue, and it is ignored.
