Is America Ready for a Nuclear Attack?

by Marc Holt     Page 3 of 3 page(s)

Tell A Friend

A More Effective Long-term Solution

Why have so many Muslims turned to terror in the last 30 years?

There is no simple answer to this, but there are some obvious reasons.

The biggest problem is America’s continuing blind support for Israel. The Arabs see this as a grave injustice. The Israelis are constantly belligerent. They have been attacking Arabs ever since their country was born. The Americans supply sophisticated weapons to the Israelis so that they can ‘protect’ themselves. But protect themselves from what? Gangs of stone-throwing youths? Gunmen with small arms or rockets? Human bombs? Sure, the Arabs are doing this, but what about the Israelis? They use the latest weapons supplied by the US to kill Arabs indiscriminately. And once they occupy a Palestinian area they move in and bulldoze the Palestinian’s homes so that they have nowhere to live.

Imagine if the Israelis lived next door to America and they kept on doing this, wouldn’t Americans fight back with everything they have? Wouldn’t Americans be angry?

The second problem is that most Arab states have paternalistic, strong governments that keep the common people down and poor. Even though many Arab countries have unimaginable wealth very little of it filters down. Everywhere you look in the Arab world you see poverty, a lack of basic amenities, and no social services to help their citizens.

Saudi Arabia, America’s strongest ‘ally’ in the Middle East, is the worst offender in this regard. Yet, because it has so much oil, the American government turns a blind eye to the barbaric methods the Saudi’s employ to govern their people. The executioner with his sword is lauded publicly on TV for the wonderful job he is doing chopping off people’s hands and heads. Women are treated like animals. They are not allowed to drive, or even to venture outside unless the man of the house gives them permission. They must cover themselves from head to toe when they do go out. The religious police are everywhere, watching to make sure that everyone abides by the strict rules imposed on them by their dissolute rulers under the guise of religious purity. Yet, many of those same rulers act totally depraved when they leave their own country. They go to places like Pattaya in Thailand, or Amsterdam, where they hire prostitutes and drink themselves senseless every day.

These are the real problems that face the Arabs. This is why the Arabs are angry, and why they see America as the Great Satan. Because Americans don’t know and don’t care.

It’s time for Americans to wake up and start demanding a major shift in political policy. Instead of wasting all the money currently being spent on arms and men to fight in Iraq, funnel the money to the Arabs instead. But not to their governments. The money must be spent on helping the poor. It must be used to encourage self-sufficiency and a desire for freedom from tyranny.

Once the Arabs see their lives improving, they will demand more from their leaders. Eventually, social and political changes will encourage a better life for all instead of the select few in power.

Before this can happen, though, the American people need to educate themselves on what is going on in the Arab world. They need to go there and see for themselves. Perhaps a new and revitalized Peace Corps would be the first step. Send young Americans out to work with the people and learn for themselves. With knowledge comes power, and that power could be channeled towards building a better world.

America is running out of time, and out of options. Even now, the terrorists are plotting another attack. The current Bush government has been a disaster. Yet, despite this, the politicians would rather sit on their hands and do nothing than implement impeachment.

There is only one choice if America is to withstand the assaults on its freedoms from within and without. The American people must wake up, open their eyes, and determine to become the true torchbearers for democracy and freedom they once were.

If we do this, there will be no need to worry about preparing for a nuclear holocaust on American soil. So what’s it to be? The decision is yours. Make sure your Congressman knows that you want a safe America, and a safe world.

WTF?

"We all know that the terrorists are hiding out and training in the eastern regions of Afghanistan and the Pakistani border."

I beg to differ sir. The terrorists a located at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave, Washington, D.C.. Any nuclear attack on this country will most likely come from within as 9/11 did. Giving credence to this bogus "war on terror" and the endless parade of boogey men only validates the inisidious actions of our leaders that I believe history will call the biggest hoax ever perpetrated upon a population by its government.

WTF for sure

Mr. Holt, I think you've been watching too much "24". Let's set the planes and 9/11 aside and just look at the aftermath -- the anthrax scare. This is what jarred my brain away from the the visuals of 9/11 to "wait a minute!"

The anthrax scare was isolated to a small portion of the east coast, and delivered through the mail. With all of these so called genius terrorist plotters, I found it interesting that nobody thought to mail a letter or two SOMEWHERE ELSE - ANYWHERE! I'll even use your cities and ask why contaminated mail didn't pop up in Chicago or Dallas, Las Vegas, or Los Angeles, and add a few of my own: Paris, London, Rome, Vienna, Moscow, Cairo, Searchlight, NV. No need to fly a plane or build a bomb. The US Postal Service, through rain, sleet or snow, would have delivered the goods anywhere. Didn't happen.

Whether you want to believe it or not, all of the events surrounding 9/11 came from inside. The terrorists we (as a world people) should fear the most exist and work inside the framework of the US government.

So who really cares

I am really really tired of all the screaming about "the sky is falling, the sky is falling'. I'm pretty tired of taking my shoes (and much else) off at the airport every time I travel. For what? None of this is going to keep anyone safe, none of it is actually intended as such. Or, if this is an actual 'best effort' good grief people, GET A GRIP! Each one of us has one thing in common....we are all going to die. Get over that, we can spend our time on our planet actually living. To me, being 'ready' really means living so that it always a good day to die.

I swallowed the red pill!
HanI swallowed the red pill!

You are from the propaganda machine.

Indeed, it is our own governments that are using terrorism to start all the wars that they want and to turn our countries into police-states. And in the meanwhile they have this magnificent propaganda-apparatus that tells us all the time we should be scared of terrorists, repeating little parts of the same big story over and over again.

And you are a part of that apparatus!

Enough of this fearmongering!

Here we go again. Those awful "terrorists" over in the hills of Afghanistan who "attacked us on 9/11" are now planning to nuke us as well...blah, blah, blah...

First of all, anyone today who still believes the official nonsense about the great 9/11 hoax is gullible beyond imagining, and needs to review Physics 101--you know, the first and second laws of Thermodynamics. (That is, if energy input must equal energy output, how could a plane impact, rapidly dwindling office fires, and the lopsided force of gravity on only a handful of the 47 steel support girders built to withstand the weight possibly create enough energy to pulverize a skyscraper in 10 seconds flat? And how could the top fifth fall through the lower four-fifths at freefall rate, encountering no resistance at all?) So the only "terrorists" who "attacked us" on 9/11 were the PNAC warmongering fascists who perpetrated this false-flag hoax on a gullible American public.

And as you yourself state, building a nuclear bomb requires a sophisticated technology that whole nations must develop over many years, not small groups of fanatics.

So there is no reason to get excited, folks. And if I'm wrong about this (and the odds of this are so vanishingly small that I'm not worried), I'll simply kiss my ass goodbye...

Did any of you actually read the whole article?

I am disappointed in the caliber of the responses to my article in the extreme. It's obvious none of you read all the way through or you would have seen that I offered some solutions to the current political mess the Bushits have put us in. And I don't recall discussing how the towers collapsed.

The fact is, terrorists did fly planes into the towers. I don't know who directed them. Read this article for my take on it: WTC 9/11 – US Government Complicity, or Not? (http://whiteboysinasia.com/?p=418)

The sad fact is, many Americans have no idea what goes on outside the country. They don't see the danger of supporting Israel. And whether you like to believe it or not the Taliban and Al Queda ARE back in action. I live in Thailand and the ongoing Muslim insurgency down south has got much worse over the last 12 months. They are backed by Al Queda too.

Wake up and see what's going on! That's why I wrote the article. I ended it by offering some concrete suggestions for the US to get out of the current political mess. It's up to you to get rid of the current idiotic administration, and to vote in a decent government the world can respect again.

the ragheads didn't do it

Waaaalll, first you have to accept as fact that The Arabs didn't do 911. once that happens, then you have ask the question, who did. Bill Tarpley writes a great book that will give a goddamned good idea who did this. The book is entitled; "Synthetic terrorism." it is well documented, and it isn't the only one.

Tired, tired, tired

of the same old swill from those who continue to push the "war on Terra" meme. The only people... the only asswipes that a nuke attack would benefit would be the neocon middle managers and the global elite...... As was said succinctly by others above, if an attack comes... -and it may - it will our f'ing government that did it. Always ask cui bono. And when you answer that, it points directly you know where.

Let's see, which city will the neoasswipes select? San Francisco? New York, again? ah.... Oh, not NYC.... too many of the governing elite there in Wall St.
Yeh, SF..... home of radical thought and a lot gays. Yeh, that's the ticket.

I simply cannot comprehend the naivete and/or disinfo-mongering of various writers. The 'war on terra' was and is a fabrication to justify continual war.
And I and my son are two that aren't gonna play that game.

Send Bushy's daughters and Cheney's brats (and his 'Wicked Witch' of a wife) to fight. And every child of every current sitting senator or congressperson. A little personal sacrifice may go a long way.... towards reducing the number of plutocrats in the 'governing class'.

terror attacks on US are by the US

UH, I believe you might benefit from a study of nuclear weapons. The US has detonated thousands of tons of u238 isotope in Iraqi cities without the slightest mention by you of dirty bombs made in America, and all of a sudden it is the dirty bombing of America you think you know all about. Perhaps you should check out the Superfund site of Aberdeen Proving Grounds that sickened Delaware and surrounding areas from longtime DU testing and explosions. The US totally dominates the dirty bomb production of DU and uses the most of it with Israel second. Why jerk off to your stupid scare when the US already nukes itself and everyone else with DU? Get educated, boy.
