It is curious to note that after the enactment of this new law there has been no protest by any of the other political leaders in the United States, with the exception of the only Muslim member of the United States Congress, Minnesota Democrat Keith Ellison, and who compared President Bush to the Nazi War Leader Adolph Hitler by stating the attacks upon the World Trade Center could be likened to the burning of the Reichstag.

Today, as the United States faces an imminent economic collapse, while at the same time its war bill has reached the staggering amount of $648 billion, one of the last freedoms the American people have had to protest their leaders actions against them, and other peoples in the World, has now been taken away from them, the freedom to speak and write in opposition to what is being done to them.

"If liberty means anything at all, it means the right to tell people what they do not want to hear.", said the great British writer George Orwell, but, and
sadly, liberty has been lost to the once free people of the United States who are no longer allowed to tell their leaders, or each other, what they don’t want to hear.

With this being so, the American people should, likewise, contemplate their ‘new’ future, and as, also, stated best by George Orwell, "If you want a
vision of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face - forever."

I have no point, just a story.

My daughter and I scraped up enough money to go to breakfast at IHOP where a person can get a mountain of pancakes that taste as good as they look. As we were waiting for a table a couple came in and the man was talking loudly about the eminent end to the USA. To him the US government was weeks away from martial law. My daughter and I sat quietly as did everyone else while he lectured about certain doom. I keep thinking, I just want some pancakes buddy and we don’t get to eat out that much. Finally we were called and got to escape to our table. Coffee was coming and we were anticipating a mountain of cakes. Then the man came to our table and asks me if I had a place where my daughter and I could go when all hell broke loose in a few weeks. Now the man was genuinely concerned and in his mind was being nice in that spreading the word and helping all he could to save us from the coming storm. He told us of the Chinese gurka solders hidden in the Rocky Mountains in caves ready to strike at any moment. He stood at the end of our table and talked about the event for at least 3 minutes. It seemed like forever. Still we where nice to him and assured him that we had a place to go and thanked him for his concern. My daughter asked what was wrong with him. Fanaticism sweetie, I said. He has allowed himself to be completely absorbed by an idea and it has taken over. We had a great meal anyway! That was ten years ago. Please don’t flag me.

Just Don't Go

I'm totally against this war and I see the New World Order taking over America as soon as martial law is declared.

. I will die before going to a camp and everyone else should have a similar attitude. Get ready and take out as many scum as you can when they come to take you to the nearest FEMA detention center. America will not be worth living in after this happens so I'm going-out fighting.

This article raises concerns that we all need to heed. Get someone who can contact people if you are taken away. My girlfreind is all set to post stories here on OpEd News if I come up missing or if i'm found dead.

...also, I would never, ever commit suicide so don't beleive it if i'm found dead and it's labeled suicide!

I am really worried about this. Bush passed these laws to use them.

Is anyone else worried?

I am a retired opera singer. I was a leading soprano with the New York City Opera for ten years. I am a strong supporter of Dennis Kucinich and worked for his campaign in 2004. I believe that he is the ONLY honest man in congress. He has been working against this insane war since before it began. I am 72 years old and I have been so frustrated with the media, the Congress and the American people that they don't tell the truth.

Thanks for your article. From the day he first stole the election, the first one, I have worked to eliminate him. Any way at all would work just fine with me. The best thing that could happen would be for Dennis Kucinich to become president. How do we get that to happen?
We MUST IMPEACH! We can't wait for the next election. This last edict proves it. It's unbelievable! We have to mobilize and end their reign of terror.
