The Sabian symbol for Jupiter at 9* Gemini is: A quiver filled with arrows.   This symbolizes our ability to focus and get through the obstacles in our path, often in a nourishing way.    The arrows represent our ability to take aim at a goal and achieve it.   But it takes focus and intention.

The Sabian symbol for Venus at 7* Sagittarius is: Eros knocks at the door of the human heart.   Love knows no rules except love as you will as long as it harms none.   And so love has always been a thorn in the side of patriarchy, because love overthrows the social order.   It is the most revolutionary ideal we can embrace.   It is a symbol of emotional rebirth to a higher order of being.   The Great God of Desire and Love wants to enflame our hearts.   Let him!

Finally, Mars in Capricorn helps us get the job done!   The Sabian symbol for Mars at 27* Capricorn is: Pilgrims climbing the steep steps leading to a mountain shrine.   Pilgrims follow a well-worn path to a sacred place seeking a new vision of life.   This seeking is what keeps us on track to make the changes we feel are necessary to create a fulfilled life.   It is the energy of dedication and determination.   A very good way to use Mars energy.

The Cosmic Story this Winter Solstice encourages us to find a new story that fills our hearts with love and hope, our minds with curiosity and creativity and our bodies with fresh energy.

May the Spirit of Life and Light be reborn in your hearts this special Winter Solstice.

Merry meet and merry part and merry meet again!

Cutting Loose

Sometimes from sorrow, for no reason,
you sing. For no reason, you accept
the way of being lost, cutting loose
from all else and electing a world
where you go where you want to.

Arbitrary, a sound comes, a reminder
that a steady center is holding
all else. If you listen, that sound
will tell you where it is and you
can slide your way past trouble.

Certain twisted monsters
always bar the path -- but that's when
you get going best, glad to be lost,
learning how real it is
here on earth, again and again.

Cathy Pagano is the author of a new book, "Wisdom's Daughters: How Women Can Change the World". Cathy trained at the C. G. Jung Institut-Zurich in dream interpretation, then got her M.A. in Counseling Psychology in Feminine Spirituality, and along the way became a certified Life Coach. As an astrologer and storyteller, she weaves the Cosmic Stories written in the stars and from The Bard's Grove, comments on emerging archetypal themes in movies. Cathy works with the tools of the imagination - dreams, alchemy, myths, astrology, symbolic language, storytelling, ritual - to awaken the Soul's wisdom.

I believe that Americans are called to a higher consciousness at this point in our history. We are called on to live up to our ideals and create the country our forefathers imagined. Inner consciousness needs to be acted upon for social justice.

Cathy believes that our writers and artists must take up our responsibility to create art that inspires, teaches and heals our humanity.

Cathy writes about political, psychological/spiritual, and cultural issues.
