The President and the First Lady traveled to Christiansborg Palace where they were welcomed by Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II and His Royal Majesty Prince Consort Henrik.

The President met with the Commander of United States and NATO troops in Afghanistan, General Stanley McChrystal, aboard Air Force One before the President departed Copenhagen to return to the United States. The 25-minute meeting was arranged after McChrystal flew in from London. Source

The President and the First Lady departed Copenhagen and returned to the White House, where the President addressed the press in the Rose Garden and congratulated Rio de Janeiro, Brazil for being chosen the site of the 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Transcript Video

The President spoke by telephone with Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono. The President expressed condolences for the loss of life and devastation caused by the earthquake in West Sumatra and pledged the United States would do everything possible to help alleviate the suffering and provide assistance to the relief operation.
