"There are two huge problems here. One, Malek has not been entirely honest about his Nixon-era assignment -- he did, indeed, recommend changing the employment status of Jewish employees and reorganizing the department to promote "loyal Republican economists." He's apologized, but he's also failed to tell the truth about what he apologized for. Two, we're still in the throes of a Beltway debate over whether the White House skirted the law by suggesting possible jobs to candidates it wanted to get rid of in two U.S. Senate races. And here you have a new conservative think tank run by a man who recommended giving and taking away federal jobs based on party loyalty and ethnicity."

So, Sarah, why all the self-righteous outrage against Helen Thomas but full Christian forgiveness for Fred Malek? I think you and I both know it all comes down to partisanship and big money, don't we girlfriend? Helen made herself famous for taking on the GOP. Fred made himself famous for taking care of the GOP and now you want him to take care of you. Not only did Fred Malek bundle over $500,000 for your Palin/McCain campaign, he has a long history of huge monetary support for the GOP amounting to over 1.03 million dollars in just the last twenty years alone. This amount does not include the 25 million dollars he now dangles before their very noses as chairman of the right-wing organization, American Action Network, nor the money you now look foward to yourself.

"By 1999, a Washingtonian profile by Owen Ullmann put his net worth at $250 million. Gore campaign chief Tony Coelho was a close friend, and former Urban League President Vernon Jordan was on Thayer's board of advisers. "With Friends and Partners Spanning Politics and Business, Fred Malek May Well Be the Best-Connected Man in Washington," read the subhead. "A Dumb Misstep During the Nixon Years Has Kept Him Humble."

Tell us Sarah, when do you intend to fire ol' Fred? Or, does Malek's money make your heart grow more forgiving each and every day? And do tell, Sarah, when will you finally offer your own and much belated apology for your personal use of Westbrook Pegler to rally Republican radicals and racists to your side? Surely, you will have the conscionable decency to truly apologize to us all for this, Helen Thomas included. We await your apologies, Sarah, "Heaven forbid" you make us wait any longer.
