BEIJING -- China said it was "deeply concerned" after a US trade panel ruled that Chinese companies have harmed the US solar panel industry by selling products at unfairly cheap prices.
The US International Trade Commission voted unanimously on Friday that there was a "reasonable indication" that Chinese solar cell and panel imports have harmed or threatened to harm the US industry.
"China is deeply concerned about the decision which does not tally with facts and highlights the United States' strong tendency for trade protectionism," the commerce ministry said in a statement late Saturday.
It warned the ruling, which allows the US Commerce Department to continue its probe into complaints by US solar firms that China was dumping solar cells and panels in the US market, could hurt trade ties between the two countries.
"The United States should avoid abusing trade remedies which will affect bilateral trade and mutually beneficial cooperation between China and US enterprises in the new energy sector," the statement said.
It added that China hoped the United States would "objectively analyze" the real reason US companies lacked competitiveness. MORE
If China had not undervalued their solar panels and dumped them in The United States, would Solyndra have succeeded or still gone into bankruptcy? We believe that the answer is they would have succeeded, and we also believe that China is working to undermine other key U.S. industries that still exist yet are rapidly disappearing while our Congress and Presidency "hem and haw" rather than taking effective action, all the while Corporate America is still busy outsourcing more manufacturing and high-tech jobs to nations that pay slave wages and have no effective quality control, a factor that made the United States a manufacturing giant. You get what you pay for -- and it's that simple.
China has also stated that the United States is advocating "Protectionism" and is not adhering to "Free Trade" agreements. China's arguments border on fantasy and deceit. So-called "Free Trade" is nothing more than a buzz-word for Globalization, and it's Globalization that is destroying America's economic future as well as our National Security. The United States contains less than 25% of the world's population yet we are the largest purchaser of consumer goods in the world. Please read that last sentence again -- and understand the financial ramifications of that statement. What this means is that Corporate America, if they brought their manufacturing back home and our government pursued an aggressive "Buy American Campaign," our economy would again flourish and other nations would be standing in line to purchase quality products without the danger of buying Chinese manufactured goods that present a constant threat to human health and safety. The Chinese, by and through their greed and political ambitions to dominate the global markets have sorely hurt their reputation and as a whole and people are awakening to the fact that purchasing goods from China can be dangerous to any nations consumers as well as a direct threat to their individual economies. Since China is now the second largest purchaser of luxury items in the world, let them manufacture goods for their own people -- if they can gain the trust of their own citizenry. A critical thinking individual would be suspect of any nation that has maimed and killed so many of their own citizens because of greed and lack of quality control in their manufacturing and the people of China are aware that their government/manufacturing is taking every short-cut they can, all the while polluting the environment and displacing huge numbers of their population to further their goals of corralling global manufacturing and obtaining financial dominance over the entire Global Community.
The facts are in and we are no longer speculating about the dangers of doing business with China. If you are a corporation within the United States and are doing business with China, you risk the health and safety of the American people. If you are a consumer, buy American as much as you can and constantly petition the government and Corporate America to bring back our jobs. Our lives and the future of our children and grandchildren very well could hinge upon "Buying American" again, and if Washington and Corporate America won't listen, it's up to the people themselves to effectuate change in any non-violent way that we can, especially via a General Strike. Nothing will motivate the politicians whom are bought and paid for by Corporate America than a complete shut-down of ALL American businesses except those that are critical to our infrastructure and health system(s), and even then, we will be threatened and jailed until the powers that be listen to the people and begin investing in our own nation rather than supporting a communist regime that is taking direct aim at the survival of our nation.
