The press needs to have Standard-Oil-and-Microsoft- style trust busting done. We need hearings into media openness and let the Republicans squeal "censorship' like the stuck pigs they are.
The Fairness Doctrine was good enough for the FCC for years from the 60s through the 1980s because the FCC holds the licenses for the public airwaves as a trust, not as a commodity to be sold to the most corrupt, highest paying bidder.
Congress needs to start revoking national network licenses until the networks can again be forced to present both sides and can be made to be at least somewhat fair. At least people back in the old days of the Vietnam War got to see both sides. Even in the 1980's s the press was still independent pretty much and Ross Perot got a fairly open hearing in the 1990's when he warned us about the very crisis we are going through right now.
He was right on the money for at least 90 percent of what he said and he paid for media time out of his own wallet.
Where are George Soros and Warren Buffet when they are out saying they support Democratic causes?
The GOP knows how to WIN. Why can't Democrats who have access to huge resources LEARN how to win too? Democrats can't even fight but seem to inevitably cave in and let this GOP-media axis get away with murder.
Why does the Democratic party always turn victory into defeat and let brazen criminals pass on unpunished and uncalled out on their nation-busting lies?
If Democrats don't know how to win, they should become infiltrators of the GOP and learn from the GOP how to win. The GOP has no other interest than to win. They care not about the American people. Go to the Republicans, you sluggard Democrats, and learn how to win, learn how to play hardball against your political opponents.
Quit selling out your constituents and drinking beer with your enemies. Go hit up rich Democrats, and there are many, instead of sending out fund raising, fear mongering letters to the dirt poor who have been raped down and pillaged to the point that they can barely survive.
We don't need you to tap into our few remaining pennies. Get out there and fight with the resources you have and quit being such surrender artists toward the GOP. I live in California and now soon I will have little or no healthcare even though I am desperately in need of it. We in California have severely reduced police (or will soon have as soon as it goes through) and reduced fire and reduced schools and almost destroyed safety net. And our Governor gloats about it. Why aren't you Democrats out here helping US fight these people on their main front? If you don't it will come to YOUR back yard next and you will get a taste of our California medicine where YOU live.
The corporate greed-head oligarchy is so busy stomping on and raping its victims that it can't even let them rest;long enough to recuperate so they can have another go at them. Like the giant that yelled "lay" and then killed the goose that laid the golden egg in a fit of rage, the Democrats are Jack in the Beanstalk hiding in the shadows and watching the GOP giant kill the goose and prepare it for dinner.
A perfect portrait or our national oligarchy. We poor out here in CA are on the vanguard of the GOP's final assault on the social safety net. We have already been touched by our amateur, reactionary "governor" to now have to pay out of pocket for any health care or services we get.
So sorry. I can't give you Democratic fundraisers any of the few crumbs I have left to live on. Maybe our Hitler Youth-trained, amateur governor might give you a few pointers on how to hijack the national media and make it his way or the highway. You Democrats stood by while he accomplished his "California miracle" take down of the safety net.
Step into his smoking tent for a smoke and mirrors session with der Governator. "
When the economy was falling off a cliff Republicans said that it was strong and fine. Now that it's starting to turn around they're expressing worry. So right! Maybe if they get the Presidency and Congress back, they can give the wealthy another tax break and fix everything right up worse than they had it under George W. Bush! Conservatives have enshrined "trickle down" theory even though the Bush administration proved conclusively that what trickled down sure wasn't prosperity. Go learn some winning ways from the GOP before you come with your "sky is falling".give more, give more' pitch to the rest of us.
