you happier, enlightened, and more successful.   "Follow these 10 pointers and you'll have better sex, well behaved children and you will have the world at your command!"   All these promises with all these paths to choose.

Yet, the path you seek is pathless and it is you that must create the path.   No one has been in this forest before you.   There is no path.   All of these paths that tell you how to become enlightened, a better lover, and so on require your feeling negative about yourself and not being in touch with your powers that allow you to negotiate your path.   Why?   It is because you wouldn't be reading them if you realized your power.   The consumer culture requires you not experience the fullness of your being and the power to make your own path.

I bring this up because these present important guides for the coming year.   I think that so often we tend to throw our philosophies, theologies and political policies around and lose track that what we are espousing is nothing more than words.   We're all filled with hot air.   While words are pointers to the Truth, they are not the Truth.   As a Taoist says, "those who know don't speak."   All that I am saying in this article is nothing more than hot air formed by my linear tongue and oval mouth.

I would take this further and say follow no one.   In my 58 years of living, this is a message that Sophia has constantly pounded into my head.   Indeed, my Sophia, my Wisdom, has not allowed me to follow anyone and I don't expect anyone to follow me (though this doesn't help in the sale of my book!).   You and I are involved in a creative process together. We co-create together, much as a woman and man produce a baby together.   It's not the man that conceives the baby, or the woman; it's both    Hence my words are seminal for a conception; just as your feedback is seminal to my conceiving.    We create together via a dance more beautiful than any ice dancing show.   Whether that conception is an agreement or not doesn't matter. Agree or disagree is of little matter. It's all still the Way, the dance of Yin and Yang, either way. The dancers part and merge back together.   It is all a wonderful dance.
