The comments that were posted on this story varied, however I was shocked to note a few that instantly aligned themselves against the government on an investigation that was perfectly warranted and legal! Yes, many of those that attempt to enter this country are seeking nothing more than a better life, but there are also those who are entering the country to further the smuggling and distribution of illegal drugs into our nation, and those individuals who would not otherwise qualify to enter the United States should not be allowed entry in this country because some of our citizens are doing it solely for monetary gain who have no idea of "who" they are helping to enter our country. This is one of the comments that was posted, and there were more, that seems to reflect an automatic suspicion that any action taken by the government is somehow flawed:

simply DISGUSTING. lets lure good people in and then TRAP them arrest them for?? all the while this gd administration gets away with rape, plunder, and murder. f**k America anyway, where did she go?

And another:

Threat to national security? Hardly. In another age they would have been labeled "communist conspirators". They're just people looking for a better life.

When we read the news, most of us are aware that Faux News and several other MSM entities have carried nothing but the government position on several well-known issues, and after it was released the Bush administration had lied to the public at least 935 times to justify their invasion of Iraq, the public is naturally suspicious of anything and everything that emanates from Washington or Federal Law Enforcement entities: Study: Bush led U.S. to war on 'false pretenses'

Like the little boy who "cried wolf", it becomes exceedingly hard for the public to discern what is truth and what are lies, so the trend appears to be that we instantly disbelieve anything that is announced by the Bush administration and as a natural consequence, millions of Americans have no trust what-so-ever in statements made by Bush or anything that comes from the government! This trend is alarming, and somehow, we must find a way to understand when there is a "real" security risk as opposed to those that are propaganda and used to scare the public to accept other actions which are diluting the protections of our Constitution, Bill of Rights and the rule of law.

The other issue we face is Iran, and again, we are peppered on a daily basis with propaganda that is ultimately aimed at justifying military action against Iran, which most of are opposed to, however, there are some issues in regard Iran that are legitimate, and most are simply viewed by the general public as more propaganda as Bush and Cheney ratchet up their efforts to begin another Middle-East conflict that could easily escalate to World War III. There are issues and dangers associated with Iran, but in this writer's opinion, they should be addressed by an international coalition that takes into consideration the concerns and fears of many Arab states who are also extremely concerned with Iran's military build-up - but instead of coming our forcefully on the international news media, engage with secret talks with the Bush administration in another run-up to war that may entail a bi-lateral action by the United States and Israel.

I believe that too many of us bought the propaganda that President Bush visited Saudi Arabia with his primary purpose to obtain an increase in production from the Saudi oilfields aimed at easing gas prices in the United States. Granted, he may have asked for a production increase to appease his critics, however, when we look at his past, and that of Dick Cheney, we know that it's a vested interest of both to aid the corporate oil giants in their relentless efforts to increase their bottom-line, and neither is remotely interested in the plight of the average American. Their utter indifference to anything but huge corporate entities and war profiteers is stark evidence that neither could care less how much we pay at the pump, and to believe otherwise is contrary to everything we have learned about this corrupt and self-serving administration over the past seven years. Below is one reason Bush was in Saudi Arabia, however, there are likely several other reasons he was there which are and will remain confidential and secret; we know that Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Egypt, and several other Arab nations are extremely tense in regard Iran's growing political and military strength, and if we read between the lines, even though he managed to be widely criticized for admonishing the Arab states on issues concerning democracy and women's rights, it's almost a foregone conclusion that Bush was discussing the Arab's growing concern with Iran:

Bush in Saudi Arabia for Nuclear Deal

By Scott Stearns, Riyadh
16 May 2008

U.S. President George Bush is in Saudi Arabia for talks with King Abdullah marking the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Washington and Riyadh. VOA White House Correspondent Scott Stearns reports, the two leaders are expected to reach agreement on civilian nuclear technology.

They will discuss a deal to help the kingdom develop civilian nuclear power for medical and industrial uses as well as generating electricity. The agreement provides access to safe, reliable fuel sources for nuclear reactors and demonstrates what the Bush Administration calls Saudi leadership as a non-proliferation model for the region.

The agreement expands cooperation to better safeguard the kingdom's vast oil reserves and its pipeline distribution system, as well as borders. (Emphasis added.) MORE

Make no mistake, if the US is planning any type of military action against Iran, we will do everything in our power to help secure Saudi Arabia's border and their valuable, if not indispensable oil supply to the United States! Further, if we examine the current situation and the U.S. dependence on foreign oil, it would be unimaginable that President Bush would risk losing Saudi oil imports if we take action against Iran.

We know, without doubt or question, that Iran and Syria are financing and arming Hezbollah; their meddling in Lebanon poses a direct security risk to Israel, however, it also allows Iran to build a political and military presence in what has predominately been an Arab and Christian stronghold, and they are viewed as a security risk by all of the Arab nations I listed above. John McCain may struggle to understand the political and religious differences that drive tensions in the Middle-East, however, those of us who have studied this situation in great detail know that the waters of the tension run much deeper in the hearts and minds of many Arab states than he seems to comprehend. The division between Sunni and Shiite, and the different sects therein are primarily the underlying cause of much of the fear of the Arab states as Iran grows in power - and they do want it stopped, although it's not "politically correct" to admit they are aligning themselves with the US against Iran.

To ice the cake, it appears that Iran has learned well the way of our own CIA and other covert US intelligence agencies and are now using the same techniques against us that we have used all over the world since the days of the Kennedy administration. It is a fact that Mahmoud Ahmedinejad has actively injected himself in South and Central American politics, and while I am unable to ascertain the veracity of the entire article, there are some aspects that we know to be true, some of which are laid-out in this article:
