As for how to make the right style of worker ownership come about, that will be the subject of my next essay. But here's the teaser: Worker ownership needn't be a fringe movement relegated to the world of under-capitalized grocery store cooperatives. It is well within our reach to make this a mainstream movement. To do so, we must understand that the case for it can be made without resorting to arguments that are guaranteed to make moderates and conservatives tune out. The case for worker control of our corporations can be and needs to be - made entirely on the basis of free market principles. The power of this premise is that cons can only argue against these reforms by repudiating a lifetime of stated beliefs. Stay tuned.
