The advancement of society depends upon everyone’s freedom. Even better said, once by Nelson Mandela, “your freedom and mine cannot be separated”. More than the number of hot dogs we eat and cherry bombs we explode, the measure of how well we celebrate Independence Day depends most on how well we honor this cornerstone ideal upon which this country was founded, and by which we must live, and of which is our profound inheritance.
