If you were the big brave macho man you claim to be, you would have led the rest of the sheep in open defiance of the church until she made good; until every wretched inhuman child molesting priest and his enablers were sent to some hellish prison to rot for the rest of their mortal lives. You would have renounced your Catholicism; you would have led the picket lines; you would have shouted from the rooftops for all Catholics to march with you; you would have urged the once faithful to withhold all their financial support and never return until all that was wrong was corrected and amends were made to all the wronged. Oh no, not you Bill-O. You did none of these. You chose to revert to the cowering, cringing little inner boy that still believes all the crap he was fed; that to fly in the face of the church will damn you to hell for ever and ever. It's so much easier for you to sit in your unrighteous chair of piety and accuse a kidnapped child of preferring his kidnapper to his real parents; or lie in the face of the truth that you walk past everyday and deny that there are homeless veterans; and all the other lies you've told. It's not too late. You can still redeem yourself. You still have the radio and TV pulpits. Mahoney is still at large. Molesting priests are still being protected. Law is still in Rome. Or you can cringe and cower all you want for fear of being excommunicated if you dared to take action against an unjust church, because you’ve already damned yourself to hell for ever and ever for you have forsaken all that is holy.
Sandy Sand began her writing career while raising three children and doing public relations work for Women's American ORT (Organization for Rehabilitation through Training). That led to a job as a reporter for the San Fernando Valley Chronicle, a weekly publication in Canoga Park, California. In conjunction with the Chronicle, she broadcast a tri-weekly, 10-minute newscast for KGOE AM. Following the closure of the Chronicle, Sand became the editor of the Tolucan Times and Canyon Crier newspapers in Burbank. She is currently a guest columnist for the Los Angeles Daily News and contributor to ronkayela.com
