It's immoral the way we now run our health care system. If Dems were smart, they'd be using the USPHC issue to bridge the gap to evangelical Christians.

A $50 billion start on Universal health care could be the tipping point. Maybe it's too late with GM, but the other auto companies will be going on the bandwagon very soon. In a very short time, hundreds of billions of dollars in health care funds will be shifting hands, almost enough to pay for a whole year's worth of health care for every person in America. It's important that, before this GM/UAW deal is consumated, the leaders who are serious about USPHC take a look at ways to quantum leap this to a situation that enhances the likelihood of USPHC will be achieved. Because my guess is that when a handful of unions have hundreds of billions of dollars of health care dollars in their control, they'll never want to let go of them, and that could be the final death knell for Universal single payer health care.

Keep in mind that corporations, currently, like the idea of getting out from under the "health care tax." And my guess is that they are not thrilled with the idea of giving so much financial power to unions. There may be, now, a great opportunity to work with corporations, so they actually help the move towards USPHC. But time is probably short. The effort needs to happen ASAP.
