“The first-in-the-nation New Hampshire primary serves a national purpose by giving all candidates an equal opportunity on a level playing field," said Republican chair Fergus Cullen in a press release. "Only in New Hampshire do lesser known, lesser funded underdogs have a fighting chance to establish themselves as national figures." I am no fan of Ron Paul, or the Republican Party, but when the GOP takes a stand against an organization like FOX News, then you really know they're up to no good. The Backfire In an act of independent retaliation, Paul is planning a televised counter-event that will air on local TV (MCAM TV-23) and simulcast online at www.ronpaul2008.com. In a town hall styled political appearance, Paul is inviting anyone and everyone to come and be the moderator by directly asking him questions.
It will be interesting to see which TV event gets more viewers, Paul’s or FOX’s.
Finally, the fact that Ron Paul is a libertarian in a libertarian state, where forty percent (40%) of voters are registered without party affiliation, I would not be surprised if FOX’s snub unintentionally helps Paul reach independent voters who are not already part of his ultra-activist base.
