We have gun dealers who feel their customers civil rights are being trampled and will sell a gun to anyone regardless of whether or not the customer passes the criminal check. Besides, we just found out the back ground checks don’t work – a person who had been institutionalized simply checked NO on his gun purchase form and got his guns. A number of people died in that gun rights episode right there in Northern Illinois.
So, what is it going to take to bring us to our senses – what ever that means - a hundred more University episodes, a hundred more Columbines, of those who herald the God given blessings of the gun becoming a victim of their own success, or congress waking up one morning and finding a million rifles pointed at them?
Will the last man standing please take down the flag.
