In 1948/49, in a musing about New York, E. B. White wrote in Here Is New York, White produced an elegant essay that presaged September 11 as clearly as a prophet might:
"The city, for the first time in its long history, is destructible. A single flight of planes no bigger than a wedge of geese can quickly end this island fantasy, burn the towers, crumble the bridges, turn the underground passages into lethal chambers, cremate the millions. The intimation of mortality is part of New York now: in the sound of jets overhead, in the black headlines of the latest edition. As dwellers in cities must live with the stubborn fact of annihilation; in New York the fact is somewhat more concentrated because of the concentration of the city itself, and because, of all targets, New York has a certain clear priority. In the mind of whatever perverted dreamer might loose the lightning, New York must hold a steady, irresistible charm."
In the 19th Century, "terrorists" were everywhere, fighting against the most foul Imperialist Terrorist Nation, since the Rome of the Caesars, Great Britain. She annihilated, discombobulated and fractionalized small nation after small nation, arming both sides and urging them to rebel and then watching to see who would win, and eventually graduated to terrorizing larger, but under-developed nations like India and the entire Middle East. Then, the winner, pretty much drained and bereft of energy and in need of new manpower were a simple group to infiltrate and command. In other cases, they simply agitated and armed both sides, but armed the side they preferred to win with better weapons and kept the supplies coming until their favorite prevailed.
In Great Britain's version of the CIA, the BSIS, and their Superspy, the fellow which Ian Fleming used as his prototype for James Bond, Salomon (Shlomo) Rosenblum, or Georgi Rosenblum better known as Lieutenant Sidney George Reilly, MC, played every side against the middle, but mostly helped the New Roman Imperialists, Great Britain, along with Germany, created the milieu which fostered eventual rebellion against white Anglo-Aryan Imperialism. That Imperialism shared by enemies, inevitably was the prelude to WW I and WW II, much as the current fascists running the American Government are creating hatred around the world which will see China, Russia and Europe, in a few generations, unite to annihilate what is left of the once noble USA, after the Bushites have ravaged it.
The world has always had "terrorism" and always will and it is no more dangerous than it was the day after we exploded the first nuclear device. 9/11 was a freak accident, perhaps even staged by American Fascists in control, themselves, to take control of a weal-kneed, cringing populace grown soft on TV, sponge cake, beer and crab-legs. The strong over-belly of our nation lies in it's minority of morally Spartan, intellectual athletic prophets, only recognized by the enlightened, which have led a life more dedicated to anti-consumptionism, non-materialism. In the end, they are the nations only and last hope.
Below is the evidence that nothing has changed much since 1968 and before, to now. Below is a chronography of "Terrorism," which I and most people of common sense call, Saboteurism, and it has been going on for about 3,000,000 years in various forms from hurling plague infested bodies over city walls and into drinking water supplies, to Trojan Horses. (Of wood covering warriors, not latex, covering penises). Although more people died as a result of 9/11, none of the other events were cases involving possible treason. Osama Bin Laden may have been responsible, but who paid him? Paid him, maybe, to be the fall guy, another Lee Harvey Oswald? Maybe one of us will write the Non-fiction Version of 9/11?
July 1968
Popular Front for the Liberation Palestine (PFLP) hijacked El Al flight en route Tel Aviv and forced to land Algiers. First aircraft hijacking by Palestinian group. The hijackers believed Israeli General Ariel Sharon was on the flight. Passengers and crew were detained by Algeria for 6 weeks.
Sept 1970
First mass hijacking occurred in 1970, when the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine seized control of two American planes and one Swiss airliner, all bound from Europe to the United States, to punish the United States for supporting Israel. The Pan Am, TWA and Swissair planes were blown up on the ground in Jordan and Egypt.
Sept 1972
Palestinian Black September terrorists massacred 11 Israeli athletes at the Munich Olympics. An airport shootout also leaves 5 captors and 1 policeman dead.
June 1976
Air France airliner is hijacked by a joint German Baader-Meinhof/Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, its crew forced to fly to Entebbe airport in Uganda. 258 passengers and crew are held hostage but all non-Israeli passengers are eventually released. On 4 July, Israeli commandos fly to Uganda and rescue the remaining hostages. All the terrorists were killed in the rescue, as are three passengers and one commando.

73 people killed when Miami, Florida based El Condor Cuban exiles exploded a bomb aboard a Cuban Airlines jet as it takes off from Barbados.
Oct 1977
4 Palestinian terrorists hijack a German Lufthansa Boeing 737 order it flown around a number of Middle East destinations for 4 days. After plane's pilot is killed by the terrorists, it is stormed by German GSG9 counter-terrorist troops, with 2 British Army Special Air Service soldiers, when lands Mogadishu, Somalia. All the 90 hostages are rescued and 3 terrorists killed.
March 1978
9 Al Fatah Palestinians seaborne raiding party landed in Israel and hijack bus, killing 26 wounding 70. All terrorists killed by Israeli security. Israelis retaliated invading southern Lebanon, under code name Operation Litani.
May 1979
1 hurt in a package bomb explosion at Northwestern University, U S A, designated as first ever attack by the so-called Unabomber. After 30 years of bombings, Theodore Kaczynski turned in by his brother.
Nov 1979
200 Islamic terrorists seized Grand Mosque in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, hundred of pilgrims held hostage. Saudi and French forces retake Islamic world's holy shrine after intense battle, in which 250 were killed and 600 wounded.
April 1980
Iranian Arabs seized the Iranian embassy in London, taking 26 people hostage. 2 hostages were killed on May 5. Special forces stormed embassy, rescued remaining hostages killing 5 of 6 terrorists. Most of embassy was destroyed by fire.
May 1982
Abu Nidal terrorists critically injured Israeli ambassador to the United Kingdom in attack in London. The shooting caused government of Israel to launch invasion of Lebanon in "Peace for Galilee" operation.
July 1982
11 were killed on July 20, 1982 in Regency Park and Hyde Park in London by bombs planted by the Provisional Irish Republican Army (PIRA), to force the U.K. out of Northern Ireland so that Ulster can be united with the Republic of Ireland.
August 1982
Gunmen threw grenade into restaurant in Paris opened fire with automatic weapons, killing 6 wounding 27. 2 of dead and 2 of wounded were Americans. Action Directe claimed, and then denied, responsibility for the attack.
April 1983
Car bomb exploded in front of the U.S. embassy in Beirut, killing 63 people, including 17 Americans. More than 100 others wounded. Islamic Jihad claimed responsibility, "part of the Islamic revolution." Iran denied having any role in the attack.
Oct 1983
Terrorists bombed U.S. Marine compound Beirut, result: largest loss of U.S. military personnel in single event since the Vietnam War. The blast, killed 241, was by Muslim militias after U.S. warships intervened in Lebanon civil war.
