OpEdNews - Page 2 of Article: 2006 Year of the "No-Vote" and Birth of the "Progressive Moderate Party"

Rather than record numbers going to polls in November 2006 as most if not all election pundits suggest given the country's dysfunction and dissatisfaction (at best) these last few years under far right Republican leadership, instead, the fact that there exists nothing but an equivalent non-mainstream left alternative, I'll go against conventional wisdom and predict 2006 will yield one of the lowest voter turnouts ever.

This could indeed be the year of the "no vote". A large no-vote "turn-in" would be heard louder than pulling any machine lever.

It's very sad that this country, founded on voting as one of its cornerstone citizen rights and duties, has come to a point where the choices are so horribly misrepresenting, that many may feel better serving their country by not going to the polls. I certainly hope that's not the case but there are disturbing signs that may be.

If that's not a reason for the "Progressive Moderate Party" to take root and run a candidate in 2008, then there is none.
