Interesting to note, but not by the Commission:
Neither American Airlines Flight 11 nor United Airlines Flight 175 were scheduled to fly on September 11, 2001.
None of the official pilots of the four hijacked airliners held a license to fly their assigned aircraft.
A United Airlines Flight 93 was recorded into the FAA registry as landing in Cleveland, Ohio and departing it's passengers - after a separate Flight 93 crashed in Pennsylvania.
On the team of the American Society of Civil Engineers - contracted by FEMA to investigate the cause of the collapses of the twin towers - were the wife of the trade center's structural engineer and a representative of the buildings' original design team. Each member of this team was required to sign secrecy documents that demanded that they never use the information against the buildings' owners as part of a lawsuit.
Ptech, a software developement company financed by Saudi businessman Yassin Al-Qadi, long connected with radical Islam and terrorism, had contracts - and access to the most sensitive of intelligence and communications within the US military - including the Air Force and NORAD, the FBI, the US Congress, NATO, the FAA and the White House.
The federal government has sealed all public access to any debris and physical evidence collected at the Pentagon, even disallowing the NTSB and FAA from access.
The joint, seemingly magical manufacture of a story about scrambled interceptors during the 911 attacks emerges from an accidental collaberation between Dan Rather at CBS and General Myers at NORAD. Both later recant, blaming "bad communication" as the story is utterly false.

Loose the obfuscations, ignore the facts and let's weave this tale:
Between testifying before Senate Commitees and the 911 Commission, NORAD, Pentagon and FAA officials offered no less than three contradictory accounts over the course of a year to explain their failures. Several Commission members sought criminal charges for perjury but were stopped. No reason was offered. The National Security Advisor, Condoleezza Rice, testified under oath that "... no one could have foreseen hijacked airliners being used as missles to fly into buildings..." George Bush and Donald Rumsfeld also made this assertion repeatedly, in direct contradiction to a variety of recognized and well practiced scenerios by NORAD, the NRO and the CIA since 1998, as is a matter of record. Among these contingencies, the World Trade Center and the Pentagon were considered to be prime targets. Sibel Edmunds, a translator working for the FBI, testified for three and a half hours about numerous flaws and procedural failures regarding actionable intelligence and significant 911 cover up operations at the FBI. She was served with a gag order and her entire testimony was ignored in the final report. The Commission officially requested over 11,000 documents from the White House. They actually received about 2,700 - many heavily redacted and with censored text. FAA Chief Norman Mineta testified that he witnessed Vice President Cheney receiving rapid warnings from a 'young man' when an airliner heading for DC was 50 miles out, 30 miles out, 10 miles out when he asked the Vice President: "... does the order still stand?" The Vice President replied: "Yes, have you heard anything to the contrary?" Flight 77 struck the Pentagon within four minutes. The 'young man' and the order that he referred to - including Mr Mineta's entire testimony - is ignored in the final report. George Bush and Dick Cheney testify only together, no oath is sworn by either and no record of the conversation is allowed. An FAA manager deliberately destroyed, (and scattered), the logs of the false radar blips and other details that were a record of the war drills on the morning of 911, (commiting federal crime in doing so), yet he was never interviewed nor mentioned by the 911 Commission. He later received a promotion. A twenty-eight page document prepared by a former prosecutor about Saudi government connections and material support for two of the alleged future hijackers residing in San Diego California was ignored by the Commission.
Who is that masked man and how to proceed backward from the conclusion:
The 911 Commission was directed by Philip Zelikow, who co-authored a book with his close friend Condolezza Rice, and headed the transition team when George Bush assumed the presidency in January of 2001. Mr Zelikow had complete control over the final 911 report and it's contents and admitted that he "had numerous conversations with several members of the White House staff, inclucing the President's chief advisor Karl Rove" during the Commission's investigation. He had previously agreed not to do so and, remarkably, no Commission members were aware of his close White House connections.
Where priorities are important, let's get a perspective:
The 911 Commission's initial budget: $3 million, later increased reluctantly to $15 million due to pressure from the victim's families. The Ken Starr investigation of Bill and Hillary Clinton resulting in a charge of lying under oath regarding consensual sex that lead to adultry: $50 million. The investigation of the loss of the space shuttle Columbia: $50 million.
