Musharraf rules Pakistan with an iron fist propped up by a military that has historically shared power with the Pakistan’s elite, classist civilian leadership. Small wonder that today in Pakistan approximately 48% of those recently polled favor Osama bin Laden over Musharraf whose rating is in the single digits. His days may well be numbered as Pakistan spirals out of control and democracy remains an illusive illusion.
