This previously, practically unknown Arab had a plan. He secretly forwarded his ideas to the CEO that he knew was an old friend of his Saudi Arabian daddy. The plan was to highjack several commercial airliners simultaneously. This holy mission would then smash the airliners into large private and governmental buildings using thoroughly indoctrinated men from the ‘Army of God’ who truly believed that on their death they would go directly to paradise and sit at His side. The plan was an instant hit with the oilman. He directly saw that with only a relatively small investment, he would generate billions of dollars in a few short years. Billions of dollars in before tax net for his private accounts (most of which were offshore so he never would pay the taxes). And, even more billions of dollars from his holdings in armament manufacturers and the conglomerates that had bought the current administration thru two fraudulent elections. At no time and in no way did the morality of his decision to proceed, ever enter his thoughts.
This sociopath, already far beyond just wealthy, well knew the measure of what the response would be after this attack. He knew , exactly, what would be the actions of his not so bright, good-old oil buddy, the President. In fact he knew that this was just what many in the administration considered necessary to implement a course of action they had already prepared. With only the slightest of guided whisperings from himself and the other chairs of World Big Oil and their Bankers, they would control a huge part of the market like no predator had ever previously imagined. With a government-protected monopoly and a pocketed president, the most powerful nation on earth would act as the mega-conglomerate’s private security. No one had ever been offered the like of such an enormous unearned windfall with such little effort. Even after the events of that September that so shocked most everyone in the World; as this predator watched the coverage, the dead and dying never once crossed his mind. His face displayed an expression of foulness over his seriously red neck, as over and over, he mentally calculated his share of the blood soaked money.
Even Rockefeller with Standard Oil could not have dreamed of the bankable net these liars and thieves have stolen in the past few years. Conspiracy theory? Just a fable? I quite doubt that this is more than a few percentage points off the true mark.
As United States citizens, we have recently discovered to our horror, specifically on the date (alluded to) above, that some foreign nationals hold the opinion that we citizens, all of us, are responsible for the actions of those United States government representatives and business leaders operating in ‘their’ country. Now you and I are quite aware that there is little or nothing we can easily do about Bush, his co-conspirators or the people who so foolishly elected him (well, not really elected, as we now know). Just as frightening, he will probably serve out his term. Impeachment is a tough road, as it should be, to prevent misuse, and the “decider” won’t go quietly.
Now as my anger reseeds I feel ….well, embarrassed… (must remember to buy a Dixie Chicks album). Maybe I am responsible. In a democracy, “Of the People…” everyone must share in the triumphs and the blame…. Although I feel a very strong urge to say:
It is not my fault. I voted for the other idiot(s) both times. Though by now most folks seem to have finally realized that history will show this clown to be the head of the most dysfunctional National Government we have ever been forced to endure. Now I am afraid that this administrations insanity (is there no end to it, as Bush blatantly commits obstruction of justice, by firing the US Attorneys) may spawn the end of everything wholesome and decent. And, I cannot help being unsure if the US can recover from this seemingly bottomless pit. As deeper and deeper this sorry excuse for an administration dig what I’m sure they believe will be a safe place for their mob to hide from the inevitable lawsuits and criminal complaints sure to follow the next federal election. If one is to be allowed, or maybe they know they can steal another election with McCain, who after reinstitution of the draft and tripling the middle east troop count would ‘surge, surge’ ahead.
Sadly, as there apparently is to be no ending to the ever-deepening mass crisis that today embodies the United States of America. And, as there appears to be yet more than enough space remaining, if it is, as I fear, that ‘the pit’ is fated to entomb the leftovers of our accelerating decline along with the wasted sprit and that of our historic triumph, that once we all so proudly shared, equally, in, “The Greatest Country in the World.”
Impossible Imaginings
I’m getting angry again…This oh so inept, criminally corrupt and just plain stupid collection of homicidal clowns may with their self service flowing like a sewer from the ‘decider.’ He who makes all the wrong ones, may very well have, with his unworkable policies, have put the final nail in the coffin of this once Great Country. With this predatory administrations continuing opposition to the fact of global warming, to the profitable benefit of his corporate friends, that that may soon be more aptly described as Global Dying. The ending of the World and Bush is remembered in history only for being the leader who accelerated the decline of this former garden past the all but unknown point of; it’s just too late.
In just my lifetime, thousands of species of plants and animals have been lost forever to the overpowering sadness that is extinction. And the rate of attrition has grown thru out my 60 years. In my middle years it was common knowledge that there were cities where on certain days the air was unfit to breathe. Children and old folks could die and it is worse now. These are quite obvious signals of approaching danger. But for every person that call’s a warning, there are hundreds that are too busy enjoying the good life and besides, the scientists will discover a way to solve the problem that is still a very long way off.
YO! Wait. You claim to be an optimist. What’s with the doomsayer?
I know, but I’m really old and, I simply will not last to the time of the coming troubles and you need to know these truths. Once, quite some time ago, I read a speculative estimate that scared me more than every Steven King novel I have read, all combined:
“……..If a major commitment to reverse the effects of the warming (that today is greatly accelerating) is NOT initiated on a Global Scale, with a contribution that is a goodly portion of the revenue from Every Country in the World and, NOT at least seriously begun with many hard-hitting, extremely unpopular statues firmly in place no later then the year of 2025 that: After this time of “It Is Just To Late” the damage will simply be to far advanced (and literally feeding on itself) and there is n othing, repeat nothing, that can be done to save the Earth that involves anything less then a scale that hints at much more then multiple generations and centuries.”
Though if we don’t do anything and continue to just do nothing, it will take around the 50 years following to finish destroying this world. So you see, if you’re a filthy rich oil man at any age over 20, why worry, make another billion, since you will in all likelihood have died of old age before the Planet. BUT, if you care at all for your descendants, and mine, you must understand and accept this as fact.
Trying hard to remember that I’m the stated optimist, after much thought, I believe that the author, very loosely quoted above, may, in this instance, be more of an optimist then I shall ever be. Therefore I am reducing his ‘point-of-no-return’ by a decade or two. I’m basing this opinion on a number of criteria not envisioned by the author in the late 80’s that includes a ‘snowball’ effect not in his projection and Governments, Oil Company executives, automobile manufacturers, and other predators who continue to in fact, encourage adding to the “green house effect.” And, the “impossible imaginings,” such as the election that wasn’t, with both now known to have been stolen for a C student president, who with Guard service and reason both AWOL, for 6 critical years, has stated that the theory of global warming is a farce.
Please, though the following may (or may not) be an exaggeration of the fate of Human Kind, you must believe in the seriousness of this issue. If your family means anything to you, study everything written on the subject, research pre-history, if that’s what it will take to convince you. Look at things like an “ice age” that can last 10,000 years. Might you think, so then could an age of warming? Learn to accept that as the icecaps melt (there is proof of this, and IT IS accelerating) and over years, the Worlds Ocean’s are raised 3 inches. So, you think, 3 inches, no big deal. But, what this means, along with much more, is this seeming insignificant rising could expand a storm surge that floods New York City to the second story. With an average of only ten feet above sea level, these 3 inches might lead you to seriously consider immediately dumping your Florida Real Estate (right along with King Bushie’s Princely Brother).
