In coming to this awakening, some will ask well what about victims of rape and incest or do I believe in forcing a woman to carry their baby. At this point, I do not have all the answers and probably never will. But, I feel we have to start having an open and honest discussion when it comes to any belief in the culture of life. Do I have the right to tell anyone not to have an abortion? Under Roe V Wade, I do not since under the current law, it is their choice. What I can do is hopefully do through this one column is to steer them in the direction of going to alternative clinics instead of abortion clinics in which their baby is at least given a chance to live. Who knows, there is probably a loving couple or individual out there waiting for this child. If you are one who opposes GAY adoption for religious and moral purposes; what is the far greater good? I would say allowing a child to be adopted by a GAY couple is morally superior than standing by an allowing one more child to be aborted.
The late Mother Theresa who was respected by many around the world had this to say of abortion, “How do we persuade a woman not to have an abortion? As always, we must persuade her with love,”
It is my hope that this one column will not be met with utter contempt, but one of thoughtful reflection. If you are still pro-choice after reading this, it is your right as a free and individual thinker to remain so. I just felt the need to reach out and speak out for those whose voices I never heard. They are the voices of unborn babies.
