Last Thursday, May 18th, amidst the glare of Jeffs' polygamy, a United States Senate panel advanced a Congressional ban on gay marriage. The full Senate will address the Bill in the early part of June.
The goal now and through November is to stop the media and Rove from creating a polygamy fury for the Christian Right to glom on to. Polygamy may be unseemly and bizarre... but so are countless other issues in this nation. The more intensely the public scrutinizes this practice, the more ammunition they have to energize a wedge.
When foolish people act upon irrational fear, very bad things can happen. The real issues in our elections are much too important to ignore.
The Rovians are loading their barrels. Know what they're planning. Don't let them succeed.
