Of course, there is no memory hole. Washington is perfectly well aware of just what Lieberman is like. And he is one of them. Ned Lamont is not. This will not do. Washington is not prepared to face the process of actual democracy, of voters exercising their rights. Ned Lamont is against the war, as are the majority of Americans, and Lamont's primary win is a damning indictment of White House policy and the politicos who support it. The stops have and will be pulled. No effort will be spared to right the now listing status quo. Come November, we'll find out just how effective the now tiresome rhetoric of fear, the blatantly opportunistic terror plots, and the media stream inveighing against outsiders will have been.
