Please join me in the call to alert them to their own best interest, even if they don't deserve it. Because that may be our only hope.

Smaller fish in the pond are going to be affected too, and not only on the Internet:

How little would one of my ACLU Board Member colleagues have thought that she herself would be arrested from her own home, without probable cause or warrant? (This was because of the Patriot Act, and note that of course this happened before S. 1959 was being passed into law).

Who would ever have thought that phone connections would suddenly click off as certain words and word phrases were being talked about, ie impeachment, internal fraud jobs, plans to topple a bill, etc.....when I was on the phone with people whose own phones obviously are tapped?

Who would ever have thought that a really particularly ethical and nice policeman in my town would be on a no-fly list? What about the very sweet and gentle bank teller in my town who was not allowed to fly home and was accused of carrying a bomb in her purse, yet the TSA (Transportation Security Administration) also refused to search her purse to prove their allegations? Oh and guess why she was targeted. She had grass fertilizer on her shoes! So much for "protections" and "necessity".

Folks, let's please pass word along to anybody who suffers under the illusion---that's just what it is, illusion-----of immunity and "it never will happen to me/you/them", that they are making an assumption. And that sometimes, the best thing we can do, for the best good of absolutely everyone involved, is to question assumptions.
