You too can find hope.  It is located at www.foavc.org.  Then let that hope channel your moral energy by becoming a member.  The Friends of the Article V Convention need you.  America needs you.  Now.

I hope that America stops hurting the world soon

I have no hope left for America, but I've adapted to that by realizing I'm not just an American (geographically) and a man (biologically), but also an earthling and a living thing. I've reoriented my priorities to reflect the interests of these larger groups to which I also belong, which, incidentally, seem to require the "neutralization" of the ill effects of humanity, especially America.

From that perspective, things are looking better for humanity as America poises to eliminate itself as a world player. Also, global warning, which clearly mankind will not prevent, will not end life on earth, although it may thin or eliminate the human race as it dies out and is replaced by something better adapted to 135 to 160 degree weather. As a terran life form interested in the well-being of other terran life, that's got to be an improvement. Humanity will be improved by the loss of America's influence, and life will benefit by a major human "correction".

So, there's always a silver lining if you know how to find it.

While there is no hope left for me that America will avoid chaos and self-destruction, or that it will lift a finger (or lose a nickel's profit) to avert global desecration before that time, there's hope in recognizing that those are positive changes for the earth from the long term perspective of non-human life..

OK, this has all been just a little tongue-in-cheek. But just a little. I still say that the world would be a better place without so much humanity, especially of the American type.
