I am no defeatist, and I remain willing to change my mind. But I see no heroes today. I see no true resistance. I see no help on the way for this wounded lady, for this mangled frame. This was your America. Be good to her as she lies sweating and bleeding, in her last throes. She was once very strong, and beautiful, and kind.
