Maybe the two drivers just stopped to talk and became alarmed at the American helicopter watching
Maybe they had the guns for protection and were afraid that the Americans would take them to Abu Graib
Maybe the farmer was just an innocent bystander and was trying to get the others to leave his field

And what threat were these guys to an American gun-ship, anyway?
I mean, why couldn't they just grab these guys?

One thing is certain, whether they were insurgents or not
The families and friends of the two Iraqi drivers are probably insurgents now
And the family and friends of the farmer are probably insurgents now, also

Oh, and by the way, who will finish plowing the field and get in the crops?
