So we do need a strong education system in this country but that system ought to be run by local people. They know what to do best in their schools. We ought to help them, but local folks ought to be able to decide what goes on in their school systems-- with our assistance, but not unfunded mandates like what the president has asked for.

The last thing that I want to talk about is something that I have no doubt that they will talk about as well. I can't think of two better folks to go to congress to stand up for the defense of the United States of America. They are always saying that you can't trust the Democrats that they are weak.

Well George Bush cut and run when it came to getting nuclear weapons out of north korea. There was no growth in nuclear weapons in N korea when Bill Clinton was president. The spectacle of the president of the united states blaming somebody else that was in office six years before. He has had six years to get rid of those nuclear weapons and he has not done it. Here is the Republican record on defence, The president identified three nations that he thought were a big problem,

Six years later-- one of them we are in the middle of a civil war in-- stuck.

Two n korea just tested nuclear weapons, the president has been there six years has done nothing.

Three iran is about to get nuclear weapons and four a guy that is responsible for the murder of 3000 american is still hiding out in NW Pakistan. Explain to me how the Republican party is the party of being tough on defense. Most of of them have never served a day intheir life in the uniform in the united states army, armed services abroad, how dare they talk about being the party of defence.

Then they attack these guys calling them carpet baggers cause they couldn't serve America here in Pennsylvania they had to go to Iraq to do it,

You can't trust Republicans with your money. You can't trust them with your kids, and you can't trust them to defend the United States of America.

The Democrats are not perfect. We will defend America by being tough and smart and not just talking tough at election time. We'll defend America by bringing jobs back to places like Pennsylvania, and by making sure the budget is balanced. And we'll defend American kids by putting their interests ahead of the interest of any political party including our own.
