"Science should not be tampered with for political reasons – or any reason. Reproductive health, stem cell – hands off."

"No one likes to pay taxes, but they're the dues everyone pitches in to keep our government serving the people. Taxes should be fair and not squandered – and government really should serve the people – and don't tell me that the rich can't pay their dues too."

These are just a few. Somebody may say some tidbits like these – certainly, Kucinich and Gravel are the ones who would be most capable – but I don't suggest you hold your breath. But if people insist on honest talk and practice it themselves, and even listen to each other when they disagree, who knows? Maybe politicans may come around. They're certainly behind what the people think on the war in Iraq, on universal health insurance, on reproductive rights, and all the rest.

Democracy may work, if it's actually democratic.
