Please write a letter to Governor Corzine and your NJ news papers to help right the wrong in NJ.

To get a better idea of where NJ's motives really might be:

"The law providing money for the New Brunswick facility also authorized $50 million to construct stem cell research facilities at the New Jersey Institute of Technology in Newark, $50 million for a biomedical research center in Camden, $10 million for research at the Garden State Cancer Center in Belleville and $10 million to do the same at the Eli Katz Umbilical Cord Blood Program in Allendale".

.......that seems to total five stem cell facilities. One in Middlesex county, two in Essex county, one in Camden county and one in Bergen county. Hey, isn’t NJ Senate president Richard Codey from Essex county?? And isn’t NJ Assembly president Joe Roberts from Camden county?? This appears to be mostly pork barrel "bring home the bacon" spending and jobs for their district.

Note: Though there is some potential that adult stem cell research will lead to scientific breakthroughs, the general consensus among researchers is that embryonic stem cells are the most versatile and therefore hold the greatest promise to derive treatments that can alleviate the suffering from spinal cord injury and a host of other debilitating and deadly medical conditions.

A former Economics Professor in Florida, Armitage worked in the healthcare industry in California for about ten years. Growing up on four different continents due to her father's employment for a major multi-national corporation, Armitage received her BA and Masters degree from the University of Amsterdam, in The Netherlands. Her son's paralysis from a soccer injury at age 7, ignited her passion for the issues of Medical Mal-practice, Stem Cell Research, Universal Healthcare and the ADA. Her activism in these areas has earned her coverage in major national newspapers, and she is the founder of Cure Paralysis Now. Armitage is also a full-time caregiver to her now eighteen year old son, and mother to four daughters.
