The 'crazies in the basement’ don’t believe such a society can exist, or should exist, and they do everything in their power to keep it from existing.    For them, an ignorant, obedient citizenry beholden to an absolute, opaque government is the ideal.

To see that the real, most dangerous threat to our freedom and democracy is from radicals and fanatics within our nation, within our government, and not from without---don’t take my word for it---Google “Leo Strauss” and see for yourself.
