Will Bishops request the laity to abandon the clergy sex abuse fires to jump to the immigration reform fires?
We can pray and/or we can write letters, letting our opinions known -- please assist in these efforts. Let's hope that next week's meeting of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops will focus on Society's need to correct the wrongs that have been committed against precious children and their families for many years.
Immigration laws and legislation already exist; however, legislation relating to the return of due process to victims of past clergy sex abuse crimes and those who protect them as mandated reporters, do not.
Immigration reform is important and the protections of children and employees are just as important.
Let's put out the clergy sex abuse fires nationwide, before jumping to the immigration reform fires, which unfortunately, involve existing laws that were not strictly enforced. Please get involved - let your opinions known.
