To The Washington Times the story isn’t about McCain’s statement at all, but Obama’s fairness and McCain’s plans or lack thereof. McCain’s statement has vanished from the argument, let’s talk about Obama’s fairness instead. And then, from a Fox New’s Special Report, "the non-partisan group, factcheck.org, says Obama's claim that McCain wants 100 years in Iraq is a serious distortion to the point of rank falsehood. Challenged by reporters today, Obama refused to back down." McCain's campaign claims Obama "has been knowingly twisting McCain's words for as much as three months."

Even Fox knows that their credibility is naught, so this is what Factcheck.org says, don’t take our word for it. “Challenged by reporters today, Obama refused to back down.” Implying that Obama is both stubborn and willfully lying when it is the opposite which is true, but when all else fails, change the subject.

“McCain Says Obama Needs A Lesson In Military History.” In a posting on its "The Trail" politics blog, the Washington Post reports that McCain, speaking in Jackson, Mississippi, "derided" Obama for "having no experience with the history of warfare, saying the lack of knowledge explains Obama's attacks on McCain's Iraq positions." The Post adds, "On the plane flying back to Washington, McCain told reporters that Obama's continued criticism on that issue reflected a 'fundamental misunderstanding of history' and a basic lack of knowledge about the military."

The lying tree reaches for the sunlight, as the campaign ignores what they said with their own lips. It is about the grand political strategy and Obama doesn’t understand that. He is a neophyte; he doesn’t understand that anything the candidate says that they would like to back away from is a distortion, a lie, a personal attack. Senator McCain has a reputation for being, shall we say, a little crusty with those who ask questions that he doesn’t like, calling a young man who asked about his age. “A little jerk.”

Albert Speer wrote of his 10 years in Spandau prison for Nazi war crimes, that no matter how well you are treated, you can never forget for one minute that you are in prison. The fact that your life is controlled and outside the walls others are free is maddening and not without long-term psychological affects. Sometimes experience is too good a teacher, McCain made a statement out of anger and anger is a poor leadership tool. I would rather read about the 100 year's war than to experience one.
