Can you with your $46,000 income relate to a starving peasant in Darfur? Our a laborer in Beijing that makes twenty dollars a week? Of course you can’t, not really superficially perhaps but not with any true understanding. So why should we expect leaders with net worths in the hundreds of millions of dollars to understand the plight of their own peasants at $46,000. Maybe you are rich like a doctor or a lawyer so they can relate to you after all, they’re rich, but so are you! Their assets are only 50 to a 100 times more than yours while yours are only 5 to ten times more than Joe Six Pack. Maybe you’re not as rich as you think or as poor as you realize maybe you’re trying to run with the wrong crowd? Maybe the people that you have the most in common with are right behind you and not in front of you.
