Other measures voted for or co-sponsored by Senator John McCain include the Authorization for Use of Military Force Against Iraq Resolution (.pdf), which unconstitutionally granted President Bush the authority wage war against Iraq on spurious and irrelevant grounds, and the Iraq Liberation Act of 1998 (co-sponsored by McCain), which called for making it U.S. policy to support regime change in Iraq via the funding and training of proxy militias and "democratic opposition" groups. One such militant political group is the Mujahedeen-e-Khalq (MeK); which has been designated as a terrorist organization by the U.S. State Department since 1997, yet is still being funded and given safe haven by the U.S. government.

Any lawmaker with a record of voting for such measures that violate the U.S. Constitution and the rights of U.S. citizens should not be considered a worthy presidential candidate. Moreover, any member of the U.S. government owning such a record, and who has willfully forsaken his fellow Americans for the sake of a foreign government with a long history of committing espionage and terrorist attacks against the United States [10][11] should instead be considered a public threat and be tried for treason.

Senator John McCain is one of many such politicians—literally, an enemy of Liberty-and it would be a sad statement on the state of the Republic and the better judgment of its voting citizenry, should he become the GOP nominee—even worse, President of the United States.
